How do we find the Princess rep at airport?

We are sailing Island Princess in August and flying into Fairbanks. We are doing the land tour first. When we land in Fairbanks, how do we find the Princess Rep to get to the hotel? We booked everything including the shuttle through Princess, but have no idea what to do when we land, the web site just says a Princess Rep will be at the airport? Has anyone done this before? Our plane lands at 2:00 pm. do we have to wait once we land for others?

Since we are getting in early enough what would be the first thing you would do once at the lodge? Our land portion begins on August 2nd and we get in that day , but from the sounds of it from others, a lot of people don't get there until really late and we are fortunate to get in early so can go exploring once there.

Typically they will have a Princess clipboard, Princess name tag, and possibly a Princess jacket. They aren't hard to find in a big airport. Fairbanks is not big.

In the slight chance you are the only one needing Princess transport arriving at that time, a transport provider...shuttle operator, for example, will be there with your name on a sign.

we are coming from DFW so not used to thinking Fairbanks being small airport and being easier to sport someone. DH asked me how we find a rep and it got me thinking. thanks

Make sure Princess has your flight information.

We have done the Princess shuttle twice (LA & SF) and both times we were met in the luggage area almost immediately.

Like previous posts, you will see Princess logo on jacket.

They will find you... :D

I have used Princess shuttles in 4 different ports with no problems. As stated earlier make sure princess has your flight information. Fairbanks is a small airport so they will be easy to find near the baggage area.

I worried about the concept of "finding" the Princess rep on our first cruise, especially as we were flying into IAH (Houston), a large airport. It turned out to be very easy.

Go to baggage claim and get your bags. Immediately past the baggage claim area were 2 ladies in Princess jackets with Princess clipboards and signs. They are looking for you just as much as you are looking for them. They explained that because we had an early flight, there would be a brief wait, escorted us to some seats, and ultimately to our transportation. VERY easy, despite the airport size.

I am curious, what airline are you traveling on from DFW.? We are in Shreveport and it seems the flights to Fairbank have us arriving late. I was looking at American Airlines. I like your schedule. ;)

thanks, Sandra

We plan to arrive a day earlier than the cruisetours begin so we will take a shuttle into town and for $10.00 tour a Antique Car Museum. I just happened to find it doing a search. Also, there is WalMart. We will pick up a few items there to have snacks while in the other lodges.

I also read there is an Air Museum if one likes airplane history? (I will skip that.) That is all I know now. I am sure you will have other people that can guide you and (me) to exciting "do not miss" places to visit.

They have a shuttle that can take you into town at the lodge.

I have heard Pro and Cons on the Princess restaurant food, and we will find someplace in town to eat.

We fly out to Fairbanks next week. We booked ourselves and got a killer rate but then ran into problems. Our original flight left Sacramento in the morning and then got into Fairbanks in the early afternoon. Then I got a notice from Delta that they had changed our flight. Suddenly we were booked to fly from Sacramento to LA and then to Minneapolis/St Paul, and then to Fairbanks. Our 7 hour flight was suddenly something like 18 hours long!

It took over an hour to get that mostly fixed but then we weren't going to get into Fairbanks until 1:30 AM. It was better than the flight from hell though.

A couple of weeks after that Delta called and said our original flight had been reinstated and asked if I wanted it back. YES! I check every day and, so far, it's stayed how I want it. Leave Sacramento at 7:05 and arrive in Fairbanks at 2:05. There is a one hour and fifteen minute layover in Seattle.

This reminds me that it is time to check my flight again. Like I said, I do it daily...

we leave at 6 a.m. the only thing I am worried about is Delta changed one of our stops we get into Salt Lake City at 7:38 and leave for Seattle at 8:10. when we first booked the flight, we had 1 hour to get from one plane to the next...........we just hope we make the connecting flight. I am with you though I check, not daily but weekly to see if it changes again. Have a great cruise and tour.

They are usually waiting for you at baggage claim. EM

Unless they are off getting coffee as happened when we flew in from Heathrow. At least we had done it before so weren't panicked. I let Princess know after the cruise and they couldn't care less

We arrived last summer in Fairbanks and yes the Princess folks will be easy to see by baggage claim. We had an extra day at the lodge and we took a bus to the Museum of the North at the University of Alaska which was very interesting.
