Star Class Questionaire

Recommended Posts

Scheduled for Star Class on Oasis of the Seas on July 30. A few weeks ago, spoke to RCI and they said that 6 weeks before cruise, I would receive a Questionaire to fill out to help Genie learn about us and family for cruise. Received emailed Questionaire today to fill out, answer and return. Right on 6 weeks from departure. Maybe they have got this new program a little more organized.

Can you tell me who the email for the questionnaire was from? How was it titled? If possible can you share some of the questions so I can be prepared if he/she contacts us?

Thanks in Advance.

The email came from Royal Genie Services at the following address: info@rccl.com.

The questions appear to be designed to understand you and your family. Samples are:

What is a perfect day for family?

Name 3 things family loves to do on vacation

Who would you want as dinner guests

What is favorite book or movie?

Is family morning or night owl?

What is go to beverage for each group of family?

3 things to bring to a deserted island

Are you Apple or Android?

Celebrating anything?

Okay, now I feel really ignorant. What is with the new classes? Is it an additional amount added to your cabin fee or is it for those with suites? What are the advantages? We are Diamond members and reserve balcony cabins, but not heard of the star class or any other class. Please educate me or can I find out more on the RCL website?

I personally thought these questions were a waste of time. What could the Genie possibly learn from this? I only answered a few of the questions.

The butlers on Celebrity don't do this even when staying in the PH suite, and they provide outstanding service. We don't sail star class until Feb, and I will keep an open mind to see how the genie compares to a butler. We aren't needy people and don't really request much if anything from the butlers, but they always seem to make things extra special even without asking.

I have been reading some of the posts on threads of passengers who have recently sailed in the Star Class suites on Oasis and Allure (really only 2), and have commented that they have had to ask for some of the "Perks" that were initially offered when this program first started.

Now I wonder if it is just the genie or RCI changes.

Also the Genie is not as accessible, you had to call to get them and then had to wait.

So as with anything here on Cruise Critic, has anyone sailed in December and noticed a difference in what they have read as to what they received.

I have read, beverages in room, hard getting desired dining times in select pay (even though free) dining venues.

Also not personally escorted thru customs, blended in with all other suite guests in one of the two scheduled suite times.

Just do not know whether to believe this or not.

So are these true or not.

Thanks

We have not been blessed to sail in Star just Sky so far, and just curious if the day would ever come and we would upgrade would we notice a difference.

Thanks again
