4 of July

My first cruise ever was 7/4/87 on the Celebration. Nothing special was done for the 4th. I think only the Disney Ships have any type of fireworks. You also have to remember, not everyone on the ship celebrates the "4th". This may have changed so someone that has sailed more recently needs to comment.

We've done a number of July 4 cruises. In recent years they've done activities like deck parties and trivia contests. No fireworks, but if you're close enough to the shore you may see some. One year we sailed out of Baltimore on July 4 and were fortunate enough to have fireworks all the way down the Chesapeake.

The ships are NOT American. Independence Day (4th of July) is an AMERICAN holiday. No other country celebrates it.

But the majority of passengers are American and they know it and celebrate the holiday.

To the OP, this is what they do:

Independence Day/4th of July

When: July 4

Come celebrate the red, white and blue with us today! We aren’t just talking about Carnival… we are talking about the good ol’ USA! We are having a party in honor of Independence Day, with music, line dancing, drink specials, an all American buffet and much more.

4th of July evening deck party

Contests

Ice cream eating contest

Sports competitions

Mixology-special red, white & blue drink edition

4th of July specialty drinks and bucket of beer promotions

American trivia/President’s trivia

Line Dancing class

The inspiration and imagination will remain/go to Catalina and watch the fireworks show that Catalina puts on.... Should be really pretty! Watching from the ship...

Queen Mary, Marina Del Rey and other beach towns will have fireworks. Go outside about 8 and start looking around.

We've cruised 3 times when we left on Memorial Day-twice from Mobile and once from NOLA. All 3 times they had a huge American flag hung in the Atrium. Flag was removed the next day. Haven't seen that on any other cruises except those leaving on Memorial Day. I was kind of thinking Memorial Day is an AMERICAN holiday.
