GUT2407 Posted July 3, 2016 #26 Share Posted July 3, 2016 Our experiences with Roll Calls/M&M's have been varied, both in whether there were active ones or not, and also from the people we have met.Made contacts for trivia & excusions Did meet a couple from Canberra on one cruise named Mic and Rosie, who seemed ok :D Funny we met a couple from Canberra named Rosie and Mic too, what a coincidence huh. Rare MicCanberra Posted July 3, 2016 #27 Share Posted July 3, 2016 I think Mics comment on risk is very valuable. Not physical risk but mental risk.Insecurities and anxiety play a major role,in how one feels about acceptance levels about themselves. And that plays out for everybody. If one suffers from huge anxiety, the problem can be easily exasperated,by a simple huge step of exposing oneself to a roll call for example. Just a thought.:):) Correct, the 'risk' that I mentioned is for all sorts of things and in the end people should do what suits them best.

Rare MicCanberra Posted July 3, 2016 #29 Share Posted July 3, 2016 Funny we met a couple from Canberra named Rosie and Mic too, what a coincidence huh. Maybe they were imposters, just pretending to be charming and friendly to lure people into badly run trivia teams.
mrs and mrs Posted July 3, 2016 #30 Share Posted July 3, 2016 You can reveal as much or as little as you want on a roll call. Sometimes just a simple "Hi, we're X & Y and we're looking forward to the cruise" is enough. You don't have to connect with anyone nor reveal any more info about yourself. Which is sort of what we have done. And now sit back and watch the banter, and think,NO,this is way to intense for us. By the way Mr Gut that must of been one hell of a dinner you cooked for Mrs Gut.Youve been MIA for hours. The $5 bot of Gossips shiraz has finished and im on a chai latte. Mostly I just observe the roll call. If there is a Meet & Greet we usually drop in for a quick drink.
