Upgrade Fairy? Even better, Free Cruise Fairy!!

Recommended Posts

We just got a free 5 night Bermuda cruise!! The Casino Royale VIP program gave it to my wife because she plays a few hours every night on the penny slots but not a huge spender. Super excited!

Any tips for Bermuda with a 3 year old? Never been.

Only played a few hours on the penny machines each nite and got a free cruise?

Not that I don't believe you but there has to be something else to it. I have done that on almost every cruise...and not just penny machines. So that alone cannot be the criteria.

I would be happy with a upgrade fairy just once giving me something....heck, I would be just happy actually seeing the "free" nite in their promo pricing as even that is higher priced then when I booked it before the sale started.

so a free night offer is more than actually paying for it with RCCL....lol. I am not asking for much.......

The club royale casino program is undergoing many changes. You used to have to play x hours per night at x bet to even be invited into the program ( thats how I got in many years ago)

Now they track new players from their sea pass cards.

Based on your bet and average play they will give you a "free cruise certificate"

some are for interior rooms, some ocean view, and some balcony..

The cert will have a list of sailings (usually within the next 60 days) that the offer is good for. If you can not make that. the certificate will have a dollar value that you can use against any future sailing ( within 1 year i think)

So.. yes. it's very believable. I have gotten many of them.

Well I have only done 9 cruises in the past 3 years(with of them in the past 18 mths) and I spend at least an hour or more each day cruising in the casino....with my seapass card inserted and I play more than just penny machines......and like I said, I was never offered a t-shirt never mind a cruise.

I don't play to win a cruise....but I still don't see that this person won a cruise based strictly on the play descripted above. If so, there should be hundreds of free cruises given out each cruise and I should have at least 4-5 of them!

That's awesome -- congrats!

For a 3 year old in Bermuda, you can't beat Snorkel Park (for my money, anyway). It's a 10 minute walk from the ship, or a quick (free) tram ride away.

As I said. It's based on average bet and hours played.

To initially get into the program ( although as I said it's a little different now)

You had to play 3 hours per day at a minimum bet.. ( depends on what you played)

You stated you play for an hour per day. Not anywhere close to what they would require for a free cruise.(also based on how much you bet, we all know penny slots can be 40 cents or 2+ dollars per spin.

It's just math.

Perhaps on your next cruise you could go introduce yourself to the casino host and ask them about their guide lines.

I have personally not paid for my last 8 or 10 cruises and have 3 more booked this year ( as guest of the casino).

It's very believable. I've heard about it several times recently. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to these.

I am also a member of the Club Royale casino program and have also received free cruises quite frequently along with invites to their "Event" sailings, free drinks in the casino, specialty dinners and much more. As "TheTruthCanHurt" indicated, it is all based on your bet and average time played on slots or tables before they will give you a "free cruise certificate". For slots, betting < than $1.00 a spin and playing < than 3-4 hours daily will not get you a free cruise.

To the OP, congratulations, enjoy and best of luck to you and your wife in the casino.

Horseshoe Bay is absolutely beautiful with pink sand. It would be ideal for a 3 yr old as the water is very calm in the cove to the right, that cove is protected, it's not deep and there are no rip tides. The beach also has free wi-fi. Two chairs and an umbrella cost $40 total. You can also find shade and put your towels in the sand for $0 cost :)

There is a shuttle at the Dockyard that will take you to Horseshoe for $7 pp, plenty of shuttles to take you back to the Dockyard.

Snorkel Park is a man made beach.

We were sitting on the Liberty last fall in the casino. I had been watching my friend play the slots. She played for a few hours each evening as well. The casino hosts walked up to her the 2nd to the last night onboard, double checked who she was and gave her a certificate for a 7 day cruise. I believe there was a date stipulation that it had to be booked by but yes they do do this. I believe that was her 2nd free cruise. (or maybe 3rd?)

If you are a member of Club Royale, you can accumulate points throughout your cruise and this can be the outcome. :p

Have a great cruise to Bermuda OP, its beautiful there!

Those certificates probably don't cost them much. For listening to a 1 hour vacation plan pitch with Hilton Grand (and being an hhonors member) they are offering me a free 5 day cruise out of new York on rccl as well. As with most of these deals i still have to pay taxes and port fees... base room is an inside room. I can pay to upgrade as much or as little as i wish (change port, length, room class etc). We got that in addition to the discounted Las Vegas vacation where they pitch it. Overall is not a bad deal if it's something you would normally pay for. :)

This response really has nothing to do with it, and could really confuse some people ( and I would hate for someone to think they had to come back and listen to a lecture in order to redeem the offer, thats simply NOT TRUE)

This certificate is a perk from the casino based on your play.

They figure that it's a fair trade since you are gambling, and if you come back odds are you would continue to gamble.

While it's true you have to pay taxes and gratuities.

there is no "time share gimmick" or sales pitch you have to listen to

you get the certificate from playing in the casino.

My certificate is always for free balcony rooms..

but i suspect the smallest player would get an inside offer.

Dear thetruthcanhurt...

My apologies in advance. You have a type-o in your caption. It is "you're", not your. It is a totally different word. (You are on vacation!)....you're.

It is important to remember that everyone makes mistakes at one time or another, and that there are many users who use English as a second language, especially on our Cruise Boards. There are also a number of people who suffer from learning disabilities and who have difficulty noticing their spelling mistakes. Do not make comments on the spelling and grammar of other users. It is simply not a productive expenditure of energies

Thank you for saying that. It is rude and my son has had his feelings hurt in the past by this and he does have learning disabilities. So again Thank You.:)

Nothing is really "Free"!

The casino gave you the certificate based on your hours of play and the casino hold percentage on that group of machines. Penny slot machines on average have the worst player odds. The casino will get its money......
