For our upcoming journey on the QM2 we booked an additional night on the tail end of our cruise at the auberge-place-d-armes. If you're a trip advisor fan they offer a 15% discount with a coupon code you can find on the TA website. Really nice property with great reviews. I hope to report back after the trip.

This hotel includes breakfast and is within the walls, as they say, with a great view of the chateau without the chateau price!

A few years ago we stayed at the Court Yard Marriott.

The restaurant inside the hotels was quite expensive for dinner. There are many restaurants around the area that you can go to instead.

The hotel staff booked taxi's for all the cruise passengers but you need to let them know. I do not remember what th taxi fee was from the hotel to the port.

Hoping you still might place a follow up review. Did the hotel have shuttle service from the port to the hotel and possibly to the airport or did you take a taxi?

Hi,

I was all set to stay "inside the walls" of Quebec City for the night after our cruise, but now we just booked a 530am flight, ugh.  Now our group would prefer to stay near the airport therefore.  Anyone have suggestions of a hotel near the airport?

Most of the airport hotels are concentrated along provincial highway 138, with little of interest. It is unlikely that you will do much of anything once arrived and checked-in at the airport hotel (hopefully no sooner than the late afternoon). You may want to decide primarily on price rather than precision location. While staying an airport hotel might ordinarily be a poor choice when visiting Québec, a marvelous city to see, the fact remains that the Zuiderdam will stay one night docked in Québec, allowing you to use it as a base (even if outside the walls, nonetheless in the heart of the city).

The only hotel in Quebec City that we have ever been to is Chateau Frontenac. It is very beautiful. The only negative is that the last time we were there they had a Starbucks on the prem8ses.

We had a great view of Chateau Frontenac from our corner window at Auberge d' Place Armes. A great small boutique hotel we spent 3 days pre-cruise at before our Snowbird itinerary.
