shelbylook Posted July 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2016 We're on the Oasis in January (Port Canaveral). One of the gals in our group uses Southwest Air. There are two flights for her at the conclusion of our cruise. 11:30 am and 5ish pm. For you pros out there taking cruises out of Port Canaveral and flying in/out of MCO, is a 11:30 am flight doable? Thanks, Cathy
Clarea Posted July 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2016 We've done 11:30am flights several times from Port Canaveral. You should have no problem if you either use self-assist disembarkation, or get a luggage tag scheduled to leave the ship no later than 8:30am. Rare xpcdoojk Posted July 9, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2016 Doable yes. Optimal, no. I would choose the 5pm flight, just because, things happen and 11:30 is high stress and 5pm not. Just my opinion. JC
Rare Lionesss Posted July 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2016 We have done this flight time on the last three cruises. No problem for us. The ship cleared whatever it has to clear quickly. We were lucky to have suite disembark and walked off the ship at 8:20 directly to customs and in a cab by 8;40 ish. If I was not in a suite I would probably be nervous. Ship delay, or something goofy happening. Safe travels.
GUT2407 Posted July 9, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2016 If you don't mind spending your last day stressing and rushing give it a whirl, too early for me.

MCManders99 Posted July 9, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 9, 2016 Lived in Orlando 6 years , wouldn't chance It. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I agree - I lived there for 8 years and would not chance it. Getting to the airport might be ok, but sometimes the lines at the airport are crazy busy, especially if its a weekend.
sarbah77 Posted July 10, 2016 #8 Share Posted July 10, 2016 My inlaws (cruising with us next week) were going to take an 11:45am flight home and I said "Uh, do you have trip insurance?" so I'm glad others agree with me. :) They're also not very experienced travelers, so it seemed like a world of hurt. CAT GIRL Posted July 10, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 10, 2016 Orlando airport can get some long lines in security. Do you have TSA precheck? If you do, and walk off with your luggage, and have a realiable shuttle service or transportation, then it would work. It depends on your comfort level.
