riddle Posted July 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2016 Has CAS quit sending out offers for in house tournaments (slot). I used to receiv 1-3 per year but have not received any in about a year or so. I am a very liberal casino player and get comped cabins evey time I ask but no tournaments. They were run though I never won.
Casino Comp Chick Posted July 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2016 Has CAS quit sending out offers for in house tournaments (slot). I had booked a cruise over a year ago and it became a tournament cruise, (I did not get a mailer but I saw it on the website) I just called CAS and asked to be included, they called back the next day that they added me. You can try that.
tleahcim Posted July 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2016 When I booked my most recent cruise through CAS, the PCC mentioned that the comp value on all cruises has gone up significantly. Instead of getting comped a suite, I was only able to get a balcony - without a change in my play. Similar to your situation, I also noticed a reduction in the number of tournament and other special cruise offers from CAS in the last year or so. I suspect this is a result of new management's changes that people have been unhappy with. IMHO, if the thought is not to be seen as an "economy" cruise line, then alienating a subset of your clientele that is known to spend money onboard is not how I'd approach it. I was told the same thing. I lost twice as much my last cruise (a pretty penny!) and got comped the same level cabin as before. What!? What's the point then of staying loyal? Carnival comps me an inside for losing $800 and NCL where I am Platinum I get comped a balcony for losing 10x that? I would cancel my reservation except we are going for DH birthday and he wants to go on the Gem, but I am not a happy cruiser.
CruisinHarvey Posted July 14, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 14, 2016 a CAS rep told me that now that NCL is having all these free whatever promo's, that they raised the price to include the promo's. So where they used to assess a value to a room, now they added the average value of the promo's on a room. As a result, rooms are more expensive, so the play to get a room needs to be higher. He didn't say how much higher though.

Sand and Seas Posted July 14, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 14, 2016 YIKES:eek: If they are increasing the play levels required that much it looks like I'll have to be satisfied with the Ocean Views and Insides. Or I can go to Vegas and play a couple of days so Caesars will give me a Balcony certificate. Odds on video poker are better in Vegas than on the ship. Or there is option number 3.....try my first call to the upsell line:confused:

clcjdn Posted July 14, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 14, 2016 I got the Golf thing and a week or two ago, we got one for a "Romance Package" through CAS with a group wedding vow renewal. I think there was some kind of couples tournament with that one.
pcakes122 Posted July 14, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 14, 2016 I received the golf invite and the vow renewal invite as well -- and maybe 2 other invites earlier in the year (Jan/Feb?) However, I did not get the European all-inclusive (cruise + air) invite that alot of folks received a few weeks ago. It seems I received alot more tourney invites last year than this. I'm also getting comp'd minis (when I call CAS) where the same play has generated a Haven comp in the past. But it still beats Celebrity Blue Chip, so I'm not complaining (just noting the differences this year!) ;)
Mikkar Posted July 14, 2016 #11 Share Posted July 14, 2016 You can call and ask what offers you have available to you. I received the Europe offer and when I called to book it, the agent went over my offers and told me when they were expiring. Also, they list the upcoming tournaments on the website and you can call to see if you're eligible for any of them.
frangig Posted July 15, 2016 #12 Share Posted July 15, 2016 Curious when you say the tournament's are on the "website" what website are you speaking of? We also stoped getting invited to the tournament's and have gone on 10 NCL. CAS cruises in the past 2 years.
