Cheers Questions- A round for friends?

I read some where that if I have the cheers program I can only buy one drink at a time, but that I could buy a round for friends and it would just go on the sail and sign card as a normal purchase.... Does anyone have any more knowledge or experience on how this works?

So I take it they would just have to join me at the bar and they will charge the drink other than mine normally? Will those drinks affect my number of drinks on the cheers program?

They don't have to be there with you; just tell the bartender these drinks are not going on your cheers program and you are purchasing them. It will not affect your cheers program.

Can you purchase beers once you have maxed out your cheers program for the day?

Once cheers is maxed for the day, you are not supposed to be able to purchase any more. Some cruisers have said they could, while others say they were not allowed. The official answer is the bartenders shouldn't let you, but maybe you will get lucky. Happy cruising

once you hit 15, the computer cuts you off and you wont be able to

some bartenders will tell you when you hit 14 and then 'maybe' they will let you purchase drinks to make sure you dont get to 15.

1 of the drinks will always hit the cheers. the rest will be charged to your sign and sail

Guests may purchase a round of drinks for themselves and friends. One drink will count towards the CHEERS! program and the remaining drinks will be charged to the guest's Sail and Sign account.

I guess kinda on that same line- We will be on the vista and it has the pour your on beer stations- How does that work with the cheers program?

Because you have to swipe your S&S card, it's just like ordering from a bartender and counts against your 15.

IMO, the Cheers program is not worth it if you only drink beers. I can drink a lot more beers than I can cocktails, so I would be cut off pretty early.

I only drink beer...16 oz. Coor's Light

$6.86 each on July 4 Sunshine

$6.86 X 15 per day = $102.90 vs. $54.00 per day on Cheers

Well worth it to me to do Cheers and only drink beers. Eight beers and you've broken even!

I only hit 15 once (lol)

I have not found on how the pitcher of beers at the red frog is handled if you are on the cheers program. I sail with my Army buddy and we can drink more than 15 beers in day. Also I suppose that the Irish coffees counts toward your cheers limit?

See Post #14. Pitchers are excluded.

There it is. For the life of me I had overlooked that a couple of times. So correct me if I am right to interpret that "exclusion" means I can charge it on my sail and sign card prior to my 15 drink limit.

You are free to purchase any alcoholic beverage prior to reaching the 15 drink limit. All you have to do is say so when ordering.

Very good. I may try the package now that I fully understand what I am up against. Now I can get my Irish coffee without worrying how to ration my 15 drinks.

If you are overly concerned about understanding what you are up against and having your consumption rationed, CHEERS isn't your best choice.

That is true. on port days I'm good. It's sea days where i am a bit concerned. if I can buy a 2 pitchers on my sail and sign card I will not have any problems. because I we drink but by the evening I will be in the casino and I really do not drink much when I am trying to lose my money..LOL!

according to the rules you are not allowed to purchase pitchers of alcohol or tubes, etc

However

there are many bartenders that will allow it so YMMV but dont go in thinking its a definate that you will get to buy pitchers.
