cdwh1902 Posted August 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Just returned from a 3 night cruise to nowhere out of Sydney and have to say that I was impressed with Carnival. Having had 2 negative experiences with P&O and vowing never to return and being a regular RCI cruiser, I joined 8 other friends onboard and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, service was exceptional, décor was a bit over the top - but did not detract from the ship's Carnival theme. I was in a Balcony Stateroom 6184 and would thoroughly recommend it. it was quiet and very close to the stairs and elevators.

lagoon380 Posted August 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Yes enjoyed our last 4 cruises on Carnival, now giving P & O a go in 10 days time and see how they compare. Our last cruise was on the Carnival Legend in March for 11 nights and this cruise on the Pacific Jewel is also 11 nights, we paid roughly the same price for both cruises with both cabins being oceanviews so should be a fair comparison. sewgood Posted August 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Thanks for the recommendation. It is good to hear the food was excellent as this is my husbands favourite part of cruising.

Poundgirl Posted August 15, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2016 I'm on Carnival Spirit in just over three weeks and have only been on RCI, Princess and P&O before so I'm glad to hear you had a good time and enjoyed being on the ship. I'm especially pleased that you enjoyed the food as that is one of the things I like most about cruising (not the weight gain though!). I was on the Pearl last month and the food was a bit of a let down after the Sea Princess and Radiance!
