Emtbsam Posted August 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2016 We will be taking a short cruise on the Grandeur in September. This will be our first time on Royal Caribbean, and we are somewhat confused about how the my time dining works. We usually travel on Silversea, and you can arrive at the Main Dining Room any time you like, with no reservation and be seated right away. Do you have to reserve a table each day while on board or can you just show up and get seated right away? Some of the time there will be two of us, and some of the time there might be nine of us. Many thanks for your help.
Clarea Posted August 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2016 You can reserve a time, or just show up, your choice. Reservations are supposed to result in less waiting, but some report little or no wait without reservations.
packercruising Posted August 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2016 You can show up any time you want. If you go at peak hours, you may have to wait a short time. We always make reservations so we get the area and servers we want.
Emtbsam Posted August 24, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted August 24, 2016 Thanks for the quick replies. Is there one area of the MDR that is better than others? Is there one area that is quieter?
OCruisers Posted August 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2016 Just show up whenever you please. Normally ... but not always, you will be seated fairly quickly. :)
Clarea Posted August 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 24, 2016 Thanks for the quick replies. Is there one area of the MDR that is better than others? Is there one area that is quieter? We've found that the area near the windows (farthest away from the central opening) is the quietest.

crosby99 Posted August 24, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 24, 2016 On our last cruise the suite/reservation line always waited longer than the just turn up line. We didn't book last 2 nights and were always seated quickly and at the same table
