Were you nervous to sail on your 13th cruise?

Lol, glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks of these things. My upcoming cruise is my 13th. I pointed this out to my husband and said I hope it's not unlucky. He said we'll be fine because it's only his 11th :-)

Just like the 13th floor, skip the number. This is actually your 14th cruise!

 

Better still, book a suite after your 11th cruise, that way the cruise after your 12th will be your 14th.

Never gave it a thought. Its likely that it is someone's 13th cruise on any cruise that you go on.

Just because an elevator panel or deck plan catalog omits the 13th floor doesn't make it so. Most every Horizon meal or dip in the pool happens on deck 13. Call it what you want, but it is what it is.

I went on it, didn't even know it was # 13 and looking back it seems I lived to tell the tale.

I never even thought about it until I saw your post but when I checked I realized that we have a one nighter next month that will be #12 and #13 (since it's in a suite). Hopefully if there is any bad luck involved it will be diluted since this is #12 as well. In any case, we plan to have a great time.:D

I just booked the Majestic Princess April 9th sailing.

 

I just realized this will be my 13th cruise. :eek:

Didn't think anything about it till I was booking my room and I noticed no 13th floor. So I just counted up my cruises and sure enough this will be 13. First Princess cruise though.

 

Now Day after I booked my air to Rome for this cruise Earthquake in Italy.

Also my mom who is paying for this cruise had an incident with her tenant

(domestic incident) and the board wants them out:eek:

 

I know all a coincidence but it made me think.

 

For all you veteran cruisers.

Did you even think about cruise 13.....and if so was it uneventful?

13 is my lucky number - always wore it on sports uniforms and anywhere else numbers come up. No triskaidekaphobia here.

 

Cruise 13 was on Ruby on a great little CA Getaway to Catalina.

I wonder if the ships that have been refitted for the Oriental market have renumbered the decks to omit deck #4 as that number is unlucky in the Orient...

Never crossed my mind. There are a lot of shipboard superstitions that we have no control over anyway for example.. No women on board,No bananas on board,No whistling on board. Red Sky at Night Red sky in the Morning.etc. etc.

Nope! I have to look at my cruise list to see when it was! I started cruising in 1982, with some breaks in between my 13th would have been 2002 or so. I'm not superstitious.

Sheesh. I don't have irrational fears. Well I do but this isn't one of them:cool:

It was meant as a curious post if anyone ever thought about that cruise.

Honestly I never would have noticed, but when I tried to book my room noticed no deck 13 and it got me thinking.

Granted some weird coincidental things happened after I booked.

 

But I am not going to stress at all and will have a great time. It was meant as a "fuN ish" post about silly superstitions and if anyone thought about it.

On my 13 Th cruise right now in Alaska and having a fabulous time. 13 has always been lucky for me anyway. Enjoy it!

I looked up my 13th cruise & it was one of our best cruises...30 days from Sydney to LA! :D And it was also our first cruise with the elite Captain's Circle benefits.

 

Whenever possible I would wear number 13 on sport's teams so obviously I'm not superstitious. ;)
