Agreed! We did a GS last fall on Rhapsody and are doing a GS this week on Grandeur. Never had a shower curtain issue.

 

Simple fix for shower curtain. Just attach the clips to the bottom of the curtain that you hold your towel with to your chair on deck. Quick and simple. H

What?? We sailed out of Baltimore last summer and we waited in line to park for over an hour :confused:. Don't even get me started on the lines inside the terminal, either. Even New York is better.

You just caught a bad day. Our 8 cruises from Baltimore have all been super easy with no real waiting or issues. When you have a problem the first time, it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. If you read the East Coast port forum, you will not see many negative comments about Baltimore.

Granted, I got in on the platinum line, but this time around, i timed from door to ship, 13 minutes at noon last thursday.

 

I noticed one improvement from the upgrade. I was on Grandeur in February and i noticed they increased the plugs from 1 to 2 for the interior rooms. Before they had the 110 and the 220 plug next to one another near the desk, but now, there are two 110 plugs and 2 220s.

Anyone know if the suites will be part of the dry dock upgrade? I heard whispers but not sure how much truth is in them.

We are booked in Owner's Suite 8002 beginning Sept 2 - and were told that all of the Twin beds are gone in the OS and only a Queen with pull-out sofa is available. NOT happy with that!

I really hope they bring another ship to Baltimore. We were on the Grandeur in January. It is really old and looks it. We wouldn't go on it again.

Shame for you, as she had a refit in May and looks brand new now. Was on in July and didn't see any signs of her age.

Grandeur had a dry dock this past May, so there should be some improvements.

I have cruised Grandeur five times in the past and will be on her in October. The crew is great. I will take her over one of the mega ships any day. Oh and since you won't be booking that leaves one more cabin open for people like me that love her.

Sailed her this past July. Loved the ship. The lounges were great, entertainment good, and the crew was phenomenal! I was very pleasantly surprised & will most likely sail on her again!

Just got back on Grandeur. Ship is in best shape in several years. New decking on deck 10, the "crack" is fixed, new paint everywhere, lots of new carpet, new laundry, engine overhaul. Not sure what else. One scrubber working, they are working on the others while at Sea so some intrusion on deck 10 near the shuffleboard area.

 

A few things still not working, I don't think the solarium roof opens any more.

 

WiFi worked great BTW.

The solarium roof opened in March, but only the panel towards the elevators. I think the other panel is blocked by the work area for the scrubbers.

The wifi is unpredictable. When i was on her a couple weeks ago, the wifi was unstable. It went from okay, to downright terrible at all times of the day and night. This was not like that in February where it was at least consistent, but still fairly slow. They did not update the wifi during drydock as I was getting similar speeds both February and July (at its best point).
