The Porch - breakfast/lunch question

I just read on another site that The Porch is now offering Breakfast and lunch for $5 on the Silhouette - the offerings on a menu chalk board were paninis. Does anyone know anything about this and if it's true, has anyone tried it?

They were serving lunch last month on Reflection but no breakfast. Not surprising that they are trying out breakfast. I love The Porch but fear they will switch it out because it does not seem to get much business.

Now that the Bistro on 5 became Sushi on 5 I was hoping they would do something other than the $30 seafood dinner place no one ate at.

I love The Porch just the way it is. We have had lunch their 4 times. Twice on each of the 2 ship that have The Porch. Yes, it is $30 dollars pp. As we have been getting a lot of OBC for booking on board and booking suites. Also 2 specially restaurants visit free for booking a suite. Why not use it all.

This would be great news....a replacement for losing the Bistro on 5 to sushi on 5.

DH allergic to most seafood and does not do sushi so we are without a nice brunch/lunch place...

 

Before the switch to Seafood Tower we really enjoyed the porch...paninis were excellent,,

I love seafood was wanted to try out the Porch on my last cruise.

We had a good chat with the restaurant manager then he showed us the glorious 'seafood tower':(.

 

Hubby later commented it was more like a seafood bungalow.;)

 

We made do with fish in Marano, Ocean view and Shush on 5

I would love to see The Porch return to paninis, soups and salads. My wife and I loved the location for both breakfast and lunch. We tried the seafood version of The Porch last January and were not impressed at all.

We have tried the seafood and were also disappointed, would not order it again!

Just as in any restaurant, some will like what is on offer and others will not. The proof of success is, what are the numbers on each sailing that (continue to) patronize it...

On our Silhouette cruise it didn't open until 5:00pm that evening.

Seafood on a ship isn't what you'd expect. It's all frozen, and what you'd buy at any grocery store. NO seafood is "fresh" on a cruise ship.
