Questions about breakaway from Manhattan to bermuda

We just booked the breakaway from Manhattan to bermuda for may of 2017. This is our first time on Norwegian and I'm really excited. So I'd like to take advantage of everyone's expertise and knowledge if I may. I have a few questions... We are in bermuda for 3 days, does that mean the ship stays in port for those nights, or does it go out to sea each night so the shops and casino can be open? Also, is the adventure course on board included with the cruise fare or is that extra? What activities on board are an extra cost? I would assume bingo is of course, but what else? Thanks!

The BA will be docked for the entire time and the shops and casino will not be opened (although I have heard that they are in negotiations with Bermuda to allow the casino to open for a few hours each night). You will be able to come and go as you please during this time.

The ropes course does not charge (at least at this time LOL) and is a lot of fun. There is a charge for bingo, deal or no deal, some fitness programs, spa services etc. Anything with a charge will be identified in the dailies as a fee program.

Ship is docked for 3 days. Come and go as you please 24/7.

Casino opens at night. Shops are closed.

Ropes course, rock climbing, and the water slides are free. As are the public pools and jacuzzis.

Extras include specialty dining rooms, entertainment based dining (illusionarium), wine tasting, martini tasting, spa treatments, thermal suite, etc.

You can get away without spending money.

Yes, the boat is docked for the days so you can leave and return as you please. It's a really nice experience. I couldn't remember about the casinos so hopefully someone else can answer -- I didn't win and neither did my other family member but good luck with that, lol.

There is a rock climbing area and water slides/pool there's a lot of fun but its really crowded in my opinion. For extra cost - arcade, mini bowling, dinner show, wine show (musical), spa. Enjoy your sailing!

The ropes course and related activities are included in the price of your cruise -- no extra charge. But be aware that sometimes these facilities close due to weather or other issues. The "zip line" part of the ropes course was closed the first time I went up there because it was too windy. The second time I went up, I managed to do the zip line twice, but soon afterward the whole ropes course had to close because they had a helicopter coming in for a medical evacuation, and I guess they were worried about the wind again. The "walk the plank" part of the ropes course was never open any time I went up there. (The rest of the course provided plenty of excitement, however!)

Anyway, if there are outdoor activities you are interested in doing, be sure to participate early in the cruise just in case the weather or other situations interfere with them later in the cruise!

What week? We recently changed our Memorial Day week from the breakaway to the Gem, because the Americas Cup will be at the dockyard in May/June, and will make the island very crowded. So sad, really want to see Bermuda!

Thanks for the heads up. I just looked online and it looks like the Americas Cup qualifiers start on the 26th of May. I wonder how that will affect us, as we will be there the 24th through the 26th...

And according to the website, the "planned America’s Cup Village at the Royal Naval Dockyard, will be the beating heart of the America’s Cup experience."

Bermuda is a beautiful place with so much to do and see. I think it's amazing to be able to dock for days and come and go as you please with no set time to be back on the ship. It's one of my favorite cruises.

I have a huge review in my signature line from our Breakaway cruise to Bermuda last year....if you are interested. :) You just click the link. There's TONS of pictures of the ships, things we did, and Bermuda. I don't know if you are a beach person or not, but that's what we like to do and you might find some interesting things to do there. I have another review from a few months prior to our Breakaway (on the Dawn) and it has even more pictures of Bermuda.

Have a wonderful cruise! :)
