Mr. Click Posted October 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2016 We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in the Fira area last month. Two blocks to Plaza de Espanya where you can get the Metro to almost anywhere, two blocks another way to the HOHO bus stops by the Caixia Forum and the Magic Fountain. Very nice room, very helpful staff. We used airporttransfertaxi.com for our transfers. They were great.
Rare FionaMG Posted October 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2016 We stayed at the Ibis Barcelona Centro (Sagrada Familia) for two nights pre-cruise a couple of weeks ago. Under 5 minutes walk from the Sagrada Familia and 3 different metro stations. Good places to eat in the area too. Staff were friendly, rooms were nothing fancy but they were clean and pleasant enough, and there was a good variety of breakfast items (continental) for a hotel of this category. We thought it was good value for money and would definitely consider staying here again on any future trip to Barcelona.
mauimary Posted October 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2016 We have stayed several times at the Hotel Jazz. It is only a couple of blocks from the Ramblas. It is a very nice clean business class Hotel with large rooms and large baths. We have always had very good prices when booking here. We totally recommend them to friends visiting Barcelona. didicruiser Posted October 13, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 13, 2016 I stayed at Hotel Jazz one night pre cruise a few weeks ago. Location was great near Las Ramblas with the metro close by. Staff friendly and helpful. We walked to La Sagrada Familia but it was a few miles away.

dbail4 Posted October 19, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 19, 2016 We just booked Hotel Casa Fuster after reading some wonderful reviews. We arrive off the Cruise ship Epic on Good Friday and stay one night in Barcelona before flying home.
MADflyer Posted October 19, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 19, 2016 We just booked Hotel Casa Fuster after reading some wonderful reviews. We arrive off the Cruise ship Epic on Good Friday and stay one night in Barcelona before flying home. You will love thee Casa Fuster as that is a great example of a Spanish 5 star hotel. The area is also among the best in Barcelona. The amenities and breakfast buffet at the Casa Fuster are amazing. The Arye Gran Via is a nice Spanish 4 star hotel that also offers a good example of a typical Spanish breakfast buffet. This hotel is at the Plaza Espana, which is good when arriving from the port up Ave Parallel and then right at the last stop of the A1 or A2 busses to the airport or to avoid any traffic when leaving the city. Thank you We arrived in Barcelona on Easter Sunday a year or so ago... we have been to Barcelona many times...have stayed all over city.. mostly at Hiltons... last time we stayed at the airport, took an airport bus from the airport into the city center... had done that before as well. The cheapest rates are at airport hotels. Easter week in Spain is a big deal- hotels rates go up ...definitely recommend that you book asap... we found Barcelona very crowded even on the Monday after Easter. There are many Marriott hotels in the city you might check out.

huskypup Posted October 20, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Thank you, have booked a good solid 2* Cuatro Naciones on the Las Ramblas - with free cancellation up to the day before, will keep checking prices and change to another if a good price comes up. Bruselas viaje Posted October 31, 2016 #13 Share Posted October 31, 2016 All the area of Ciutat Vella is very convenient. If you check in advance you can find good deals in that area. You can check el Eixample as well. That neighborhood is quite well connected by metro and bus.
dott Posted November 2, 2016 #14 Share Posted November 2, 2016 Hotel Jazz is a good choice. Stayed for two nights in last month. Breakfast in hotel is expensive but great coffee shop right outside for coffee and light snacks.
