Rotterdam Neptune Suite Advice

We were looking at a Neptune Suite for a family of four. It would be the Northern Isles Cruise. The rooms available are: SA7011, SA7027, SA7030, SA7032, SA7036, SA7037. Not sure if it's better to be starboard or port side? If we'd like a quiet room, is one better? Thanks so much!

We are booked in a Neptune on the Rotterdam next summer. Check the deck plans on the HAL website to see what is on the Lido Deck above. The Lido restaurant juts out so the roof on the balcony extends 3 or 4 feet farther out on the cabins underneath from about #7030 on up. The lower numbered cabins will be underneath the Lido pool area which might be a little noisy when the area is cleaned. We chose a cabin near the center elevators to avoid the overhang and the pool area.

Oceanmom gives very solid advice.

FWIW - If there are several segments on your cruise, might be worth a check to see if 7025 is available and, if it is, ask your TA if it can be pulled out of inventory. It is underneath the Canaletto so noise should be less with the carpeting and no deck chairs to be moved.

If it is not you need to choose between 7027 and the higher cabins with the overhang. There was a recent report of noise experienced by the cabins near the Neptune Lounge so I would be leery of 7011,

Wow, thanks so much everyone for your advice. I really appreciate it. Such great things to look at and do. We've never traveled with HAL before so we're trying to learn quickly. Do any of you have a preference as to Starboard and Port on this cruise? Thanks!!!

Sorry, cannot help with that decision. Perhaps look at the itinerary and direction of travel, but realize that the ship may dock in either direction at the port, and what might seem to be scenic cruising might all happen at night. Good luck!

On our return trip last August on Voyage of the Vikings. The Deck 7 hallways on both sides were hot, and smelled like something cooking. This lasted for several days. Not sure what it was like inside the suites along that hallway though. Not sure where the smell was coming from. Could have been down from the Lido. Don't think it was the galley because it was fine on Deck 5.
