Love2Cruz2015 Posted October 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Does Carnival still offer the free bottle of wine for booking the first night at the steakhouse?
bury me at sea Posted October 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2016 I can speak only to the Magic and the Breeze, and the answer is yes. The offer that we found more enticing on the first night was half price on any bottle of wine. Though you didn't ask, the beef carpaccio and the escargot are both just plain good! tef43 Posted October 20, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Yes they do but not the best wineThat is an understatement. The free wine is undrinkable swill. You get what you pay for.

We thought the chardonnay was awful and pretty much left it alone. Our friends did like the red wine. If we ever go again the first night would do the half off promotion. ryano Posted October 20, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2016 That is an understatement. The free wine is undrinkable swill. You get what you pay for. I know pretty much nothing about wine. My friends I was with agree with you so we opted for the discount off a better wine.
DebJ14 Posted October 20, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Our last 3 cruises the free wine has been the Santa Carolina Merlot or Santa Catalina Chardonnay. The merlot is not that bad. The Chardonnay is undrinkable.

Undrinkable is certainly a matter of personal taste. If you are a wine connoisseur you may find this wine 'undrinkable' otherwise it is worth the price (free). Next time we do the 50% off promotion it really was an undrinkable swill
Cruzin2paradise09 Posted October 20, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 20, 2016 On the Breeze now. Went to the steakhouse on the first night (the 16th) and got two bottles at 50% off and bought them to the room. No problem. fshstck Posted October 21, 2016 #14 Share Posted October 21, 2016 As a connoisseur of cheap wine and sleazy women, I can honestly say 'you get what you pay for'. There is a reason they're giving it away.

woodman Posted October 22, 2016 #17 Share Posted October 22, 2016 We just returned from the Magic today. We went to the steak house the first night and bought 3 bottles of wine from their wine list. All very nice for our taste. We were able to take them to our room and to the MDR for the rest of the week. It was great and they lasted us the entire week. Can't beat it. Cruzin2paradise09 Posted October 22, 2016 #18 Share Posted October 22, 2016 Yes, first night and first Elegant night. It may work out that way my re often than not, but to keep confusion down for newbies, it's the first and second night of the cruise.
