Athens layover

Disembark cruise ship early morning in Athens but flight only leaves at 8pm. Been and 'done' Athens before and would like to spend time doing other things. Obviously luggage is a problem. Also how long can a disembarking passenger stay on board as we are booked for only seven days of a scheduled 14 day cruise with many other passengers remaining onboard

I would expect that you will need to be off the ship early, just as in any other cruise.

What 'other things' did you have in mind to do?

 

If you book a private driver, they can get you around -- perhaps someplace like Corinth or Mycenae or Eleusis -- and then take you to the airport. This would be the easiest way to avoid the luggage hassle.

Take the bus to the airport. Can you drop off your luggage there-either with the airline or do they have storage facilities?

 

Cab or train to Athens. Pick up a guide or DIY.
