Brisbane41 Posted December 9, 2016 #10 Share Posted December 9, 2016 I do not believe in garbage superstitions, and to go even further I think the lack of numbering deck 13 on some ships is a total sign of lack of intelligence and total idiocy. I have no respect for people with such lack of intelligence that follow superstitions like that. I consider them beneath me. Just take Friday the 13th as a normal day just the same as every other. In reality it is no different at all.

Staying in a hotel room whose number contains 13 can result in a room that has been used less, and so has fittings in better condition and a bed whose mattress isn't as softened by over-use. I choose 13 whenever I can.

mrs and mrs Posted December 9, 2016 #17 Share Posted December 9, 2016 But number 13, black cats, vampires, garlic, Anti-Christ crosses and symbols, can be good things as well. Some embrace the symbolism of these things, and turn them into signs of good fortune, happiness and peace. Not every-one is the same.:):)

Staying in a hotel room whose number contains 13 can result in a room that has been used less, and so has fittings in better condition and a bed whose mattress isn't as softened by over-use. I choose 13 whenever I can. If I was in charge of the cruise lines that have removed the number 13 from decks and cabins, I would seriously order that the decks be numbered consecutively including the number 13 and cabin numbers as well. If I was in customer relations and people wrote complaining about the number 13, I would advise them to take their business elsewhere. Could you imagine how a ship would find its way if the number 13 was removed from the compass and navigation systems?
