There are several docks which are located within a 1/2 mile radius of the Central Rail Station, and all are located near the Amsterdam Passenger Terminal. Rare Essiesmom Posted December 9, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2016 Welcome to Cruise Critic. There is a separate forum here for River Cruises and you might get more information there. EM

CPT Trips Posted December 9, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 9, 2016 Many, but not all river cruises dock near the central train station. They sometimes dock at more remote, industrial locations. Assuming you are docked near central station, if you travel light, and are a walker, the train from the airport to central station is a relative bargain. There is always the option of getting a taxi at central station.
SuiteTraveler Posted December 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 9, 2016 The train from the airport would only cost maybe 8 Euros - you go to Central Station and then walk behind it to your river ship - maybe a 10 minute walk to De Ruyterkade. If you REALLY need a taxi, then it is 50 Euros. But don't worry - your ship will be very easy to find either way. The port area is quite small, just look for a sign for your ship and usually, there will be crew members from your ship to greet you. Since these ships take fewer people, boarding is a very easy and civilized activity without much in the way of lines or confusion. Sometimes you have to walk through another ship to board your ship - they are all quite small and it can be fun to compare. There will be people to assist you dockside with your luggage. Relax, have fun and enjoy your lovely river cruise! It really is one of the nicest ways to see Europe!
