Barnes11 Posted December 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2016 Has anyone received a new Casinos at Sea promo within the last week? I called NCL Casinos at Sea line last Monday to get some rate/ cabin info with my current promo and she advised that I wait because a new promo was "dropping on Friday" She said there would be 4 levels to the promo but I have not gotten anything so I am wondering if she was wrong or if maybe I just didn't get one. Sand and Seas Posted December 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) Do you mean Promo with bookings (like UBP) or changes to CAS benefits themselves? Some have reported that on-board hosts have said there would be changes to the CAS benefits for various Tier levels coming in the new year. My DH received in the mail and booked an offer we got about 2 weeks ago. It was a 2017 Event Schedule calendar that unfolded with different tournament entries for each month of the year. We received a comped balcony, cat up to BA for two, with admin fee, port & taxes came to $359.83 each, tourney entry, exclusive embarkation and drink card while playing but also received the 2 promos going on so the UBP and SDP for two. We also got the reduced deposit of $50 pp.

Sand and Seas Posted December 30, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 30, 2016 Has anyone went on the 'Annual CAS Beach Party'? It was on the Calendar. I received two mailings. One was the CAS 2017 Calendar of Events and the other was specifically about one of the events in February. I'm not sure if we will book any of these as we already have three cruises booked for the year.

Party was okay, beach was not great, but drinks were flowing and lots of food there. Transport to/from was good, though there was some confusion on the return times. They gave us two options and we arrived for the earlier one, and were told they were leaving 2 hours later. Rep arrived and it was all settled. The passengers and some of the casino staff from the Dawn arrived about an hour after us. Good to see some familiar faces :) Party was held in Cozumel at Playa Mia Beach Resort. There was a huge section of chairs blocked off for us.
Rare BirdTravels Posted December 30, 2016 #8 Share Posted December 30, 2016 There was a post card today with the $200 OBC plus two free at sea preens. This was not associated with the 2017 events which came in the mail and email about a month ago.

If they mailed them all 'Pre-Sort Standard' (like they mailed the Calendar) they won't all be received in separate areas the same day......so hopefully I will get one of those;)
ALS1214 Posted December 30, 2016 #10 Share Posted December 30, 2016 Those offers must be for upper level players I'm still " lucky". Sent from my iPad using Forums
Diabloshalo Posted December 30, 2016 #11 Share Posted December 30, 2016 I didn't get anything either. Is this for the big(ger) money players? We drop a few thousand each cruise, but that doesn't seem to be enough? We couldn't even get a free drink at the tables. Seemed the slots players got more rewards bc time played, not money spent? Slot players at both land and ship casinos are much easier to track. Casino odds are much better for the casino, so more drinks. Slot players get more, not because of time, but overall money put through the machines.
garycarla Posted December 30, 2016 #14 Share Posted December 30, 2016 Being a past player on NCL with lots of trips and lots of donations, we often get offers. We have avoided them for about two years because I can not afford the "free" cruises. Just got a nice postcard with offer for haven cabin on future cruise. Just might go back. 1smudslide Posted December 31, 2016 #15 Share Posted December 31, 2016 I also received that calendar, but have 3 cruises currently booked. Unfortunately, I can't take any more next year. Just wondering, did it state on the calendar what kind of room you are comped, or do you have to call to find out. I might switch one of mine if it was better! Sand and Seas Posted December 31, 2016 #16 Share Posted December 31, 2016 You do have to call and ask what type of cabin they will comp you for the calendar offer.

So,,,, looking at your signature line, it would not hurt to call CAS to see what they would offer you on your 2017 cruise. Could be a discount up to a comped room depending on your play. The important thing is that if you book through the casino, you get your free drink card. You don't have to qualify for the card ($7500 in slot play or $15000 in VP play). Never hurts to ask. The worst they can say is "sorry, no offers now". Edited December 31, 2016 by BirdTravels
garycarla Posted December 31, 2016 #18 Share Posted December 31, 2016 As far as cabin type, there a few variables that makes most answers possibly wrong: 1 - Your past play history to start with. 2 - The current pricing for each cruise. 3 - The current selling - meaning are they selling rooms, or might some go out empty. If they have lots of cabins that appear to be open, then are more willing to give some up. One could be getting balcony one week, and an inside the next - supply and demand. alikaalex Posted December 31, 2016 #19 Share Posted December 31, 2016 After a four-year cruise drought, we just arrived back from a holiday cruise on the Norwegian Jewel today. While I've collected a number of Casinos at Sea cards on previous ships, I have never received any of their emails or mailings. This cruise was the first one I've taken since they began offering the green LUCKY cards, as far as I'm aware. Does anyone know how the perks work and whether I should now expect to receive emails and mailings from CaS? I assume they already have my contact information through NCL (they issued me a LUCKY after only scanning my Freestyle card; no application was required. You are invited (or offered a comp'ed cruise) based on your theoretical losses on future cruises. It has nothing to do with having a players card. Like a land-based casino, you are offered events and rooms based on how much the casino expects to make based on giving you the room/event. They are not in the business of giving you more than what you pay for. They are in the business of earning more FROM YOU than what they spend. So, offers are based on what they thing they can extract from you. And the easiest way for them to GUESS that number is based on past play. tonit964 Posted December 31, 2016 #22 Share Posted December 31, 2016 I remember when they would mail the offer to us and we would then have to go to Vegas to pick up the "free" voucher. Now, they just mail it and we call. Based on the responses on how the offers work, my DH (who's the gambler) must be a real loser! :D Either that or they want him back, it's been a few years since we sailed NCL. But to be honest, I doubt I'm worthy of any sort of comps at the level I play as since I'm a relatively low roller, but I would be interested in learning about the standard CaS "perks" that they offer (e.g. whatever that birthday-related thing is as my bday is a couple months out; an explanation of the "exclusive embarkation"; etc.). Basically some sort of welcome letter or email so that I know I'm actually part of the CaS program. :-)

Based on the responses on how the offers work, my DH (who's the gambler) must be a real loser! :D Either that or they want him back, it's been a few years since we sailed NCL. Two different things. Those offers that some casinos do are joint promotions. The land casino gets you into the place with hopes of you dropping some money in their casino. The ship casino gets you onboard with hopes of you dropping some money in their casino. If NCL sends you an offer, it is based on the play on the NCL ships. Some casinos do an annual trip for players that have reached a certain level - like 7 Stars at Caesars/Harrahs. As to "loser" status. Maybe, maybe not - but probably. ALL casinos track and entice players to return based on the amount they BET Not on a per bet basis, but overall betting - sometimes referred to as coin in. They know what percent of that money they will generally get back and that is how they track you. Edited January 1, 2017 by garycarla
