Any new updates on the Victory?

From this thread, it seems like they will likely be working on the 10th floor when we sail at the end of March. Just curious if I will have any choice in what happens if they need to work on the room we've booked at that time. I've been watching this thread, and it's really hard to tell what the pace is. It also doesn't sound like calling to ask will be worthwhile...

I'm much more interested in keeping my upper floor and cabin type over having refurbished room. I know they can change cabin assignments for a variety of reasons, but I'm not clear on whether we would be notified if it has to happen.

Has anyone had their room changed/moved because of the construction? Were you notified before check-in?

We were originally booked on deck 10 in a 4J but was asked to move to deck 2 OV I'm assuming because of the renovations.

Attached are some pics with notes on each. Loved the ship / food / ports. Did not like the shows (probably have seen too many) and casino was cold as ice - no one winning. We did anytime dining - no problems, barely a wait. Buffet lines were huge during check in and back on ship from Key West. However, we were on early for both so no issues. I love cruising and will be on a ship somewhere sometime soon.

Great pictures, thank you.

Thank you so much. That was super fast... I see it is a curtain and not a door, correct?

You're welcome. Yes, it's a shower curtain. I got off this morning. Loved the upgraded room.

Just get there for 1:30 pm if you have a 12 pm, 12:30 or 1:30 pm boarding time. Expect long lines. We sailed at 7:00 pm on Monday evening (Feb 27th).

If I get the dreaded delay email for my March 10th Victory cruise, and my check in time is at 2-2:30... Could I still come in at 2-2:30, and still be able to board? I'd rather not have to wait around Miami for an extra 2 hours..

Very nice pictures, I did like the wall storage that was a neat feature. Thanks for sharing.

I don't recall the bathrooms having a night light - we just kept the light on with the door ajar a bit at night. Couple of other things - my husband did have the beer from the do it yourself beer station machine - no issues - beer was cold and good. Also, I don't remember being able to keep the balcony doors open on previous ships. Now you push them open and they stay open. Loved that. We also found the bartenders to be very generous with their drinks - especially at the Alchemy Bar. I have the fun times programs - I'll bring them to work next week, scan and post.

No, in that case get there for 2:00 pm or anytime between that and 2:30 pm.

Does the bathrooms have a night light to see at night? I was on a ship recently, that was completely dark at night. We had to turn on the main bathroom light and blind ourselves in order to use the toilet

No, they do not have night lights. Also, in the upgraded cabins, the bathroom door opens toward the bed, not toward the cabin entry door like it did before the upgrades.

Sorry for the confusion, but you replied "no" as in I wouldn't be able to board. So come in at 2-2:30 still as originally scheduled, right?

We just returned on 3/3 and they had all of the rooms on the port side of deck 9 shut down for renovation. In addition, the whole bank of port side elevators were unavailable on any floor during the day and not available on deck 9 at any time. This is how they ferry the old stuff out and the new stuff in. This was never an issue. We were on deck 10 and there was some noise and cutting noticeable but not a problem. The 2 hour delay allows them to remove the old fixtures and load the new fixtures.

We look forward to seeing the project completed. This is a great ship.

Hi everyone! I will be on the Victory on April 17th in room 6224. This will be my 10th Carnival cruise, but first with the new updated cabins. Do they have a electrical outlet in the bathroom now?

Two outlets in the cabin and the reading lights over the beds are the best I have seen on any ship.

Bathrooms still have one 220V outlet for electrical razors only and one in the cabin plus two 120V electrical outlets and two USB ports.99b21e0cf146852f964b7a22a96a1c3c.jpg4a28bb262096f021d0c7efab1b6381f5.jpg4ab0f8111a6d07ff13b5f842e8ed0acd.jpg

Has there been delayed boarding for most boardings for the past few weeks? We sail on 3/13 and are wondering if we should expect this. Our scheduled check-in time is 12:30.

Yes, I sailed on 2/13 and 2/27/17 and there was delayed boarding on both occasions. There were also late departures on both sailings but the 2/27 sailing left at about 7:00 pm, one hour later than the previous sailing I was on. They will send you an email about 5 days before and also give you a pre-recorded phone call the day before your sailing.

Thank you! Do you think it's better to show up 1-2 hours later than your scheduled boarding time in these cases? Or do they give you an updated recommended time of arrival?

Any news on when the entire room reno project will be completed?

Is it even worth getting the FFTF for my trip at the end of the month with all the 2 hour delays? It would be a long enough day for me since leaving my state at midnight the day before the cruise. Thanks. Has anyone had an inside cabin on Rivera deck yet? No mini frig?
