Cozumel shootings

Do not go into Orlando, Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. I watch the evening news for Orlando and even I wonder how safe it is NOT. Heck we have had some shooting in the local retirement area called THE Village.

 

Don't forget to add Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York City.

Shootings happen everywhere! I remember them in Antigua, St Lucia and St Thomas. In St Thomas's shooting a girl from Carnival was killed near Coki beach. In St Kitts 18 passengers were held at gun point and robbed during ship sponsored Celebrity excursion.

 

I doubt Cozumel will be cancelled as a port. It is usually a very safe port.

 

Doubtful in this case but it has happened in other ports. Several years back a Carnival cruise passenger to Antigua was murdered on the beach. Carnival then pulled out of the island for a few weeks or months until they determined it was safe again. Now I don't know if that was the "last straw" in a series of incidents or if the cruise line was just making a ploy against the island to lower port fees or some such but it has happened.
