Can you please tell me what this drink is? I've never heard of it before.

Thank you.

It is actually The Brezzi Marina. recipe from Princess follows:

Here's the recipe:

2 oz Tanqueray

1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

1 oz Sugar Syrup

1/2 OZ Lime Cordial

Shaken or stirred and serve in a prechilled martini glass.

Prost!

Actually it sounds good to me. :) I've also meant to try the Chairman of the Board but never have. Perhaps I'll try that on our next cruise. After all, 28 days with 18 sea days and the AIBP leaves a lot of time to "play" with different drinks. I normally only order things that I know I like so the freedom of the package will be kind of cool to have.

We have experienced the Chairman of the Board at least once on each cruise in the Elite/Platinum events and however a tiny bit on the strong side, they made for a nice sipping martini. However, on the Royal last November we ordered one during the happy hour and it was not presented as a martini, instead more like a cocktail. I can also say that never once was one served with olives but always served with a twist. If one enjoys olives, perhaps ordering one with the olives would assure you one...or more. :D I found the drink a tiny bit on the sweet side so the "twist" worked best for me.

We are pretty light drinkers so would not find purchasing the AIBP worthwhile for us however the AIBP was included in a future 7-day cruise so we will have a glass or two of wine with our dinner and perhaps a pre-dinner cocktail. We always buy a coffee card so we won't need to purchase one this time.

Chairman of the Board is "our drink" on Princess. We also prefer it with a twist of orange to compliment the Cointreau in the drink. Both of us personally like it on the rocks and if having it at the BOGO$1, will order one on the rocks and one "up" so it doesn't get watered down. :)

That's a good tip. I had them both up to avoid the watering down but would rather have it on the rocks, not quite so jet-fuel like. A good compromise to have one of each. Haven't tried an orange twist but you are probably right, it does have a little sweetness to it. I do wish I could have one now. Oh well.

The olives also take a bit of the bite out of the drink. Not quite a dirty martini but the olive taste does permeate the drink.

AIBP:

A bet by Princess that you will drink less than the package cost and a bet by you that you will drink more than the package cost.

It's like the casino. Sometimes you will win, but most of the time the house will win.

Even though I like the AIBP, I agree.....:):):)

I've always found that even the times they give it as a perk the price is increased accordingly.

I'll just as soon buy what I want & go with a cheaper price rather than try to consume unwanted drinks to get my money's worth.

Agree. We had the AIBP on an upcoming Mediterranean Cruise. Then the anniversary sale started and we compared prices. I figured out that with the decrease in price on the anniversary sale I could buy the AIBP and still come out $100 ahead.

I keep checking prices for our next two cruises that were booked under the Sip and Sail and, even with the promos that have happened since we booked the price has always been higher and we come out ahead just sticking with what we have.

I agree that, for some people and on some cruises, the savings are significant when changing the booking to a newer promo but, for us, it hasn't been the case.

I don't know if it's true but someone else said you can turn your AIBP into OBC. If you don't consume much that might be a good option for you.

Now that I've never heard of. I wonder what the dollars would be for a trade-in?

I'll bet it's not dollar for dollar what they charge.

You don't turn in your AIBP. With the promotion you can select the AIBP or OBC. I believe on our 12 day cruise the OBC offered was $300/person instead of the AIBP which had a value at that time of $676. We typically spend $15-$20/day on beverage so the OBC was a better deal for us. The cruise price latter dropped by about $500 per person with $100 OBC and we took the reduced price which still had a net savings of $300 for us.

We have a 7-day Alaska cruise in August. We could have the AIBP included or get. $150 pp credit.

AIBP or OBC when you book makes more sense. But a 7 day AIBP is $418, the $150 isn't even half of the value. Not a surprise I guess but what a sharp stick in the eye.

To "check prices" are you just doing a "fake booking" for the same cruise and cabin class or is there any easier way to see if the price has changed?

We already had the cruise booked when the promotion was announced. It came with a specialty dinner, and we kept the already-discounted price from our TA. So, we viewed it as the chance to buy the package for $150. The stick isn't so pointy when viewed that way. :)

I think it was something like $250 for our 28 day cruise compared to $3,155 for the AIBP. And that was back when the package was $56.35 per day. Now it seems to be $59. I am surprised because I remember people saying it was going up to $57.85 but it's now more than that.

It is easy to check the prices by simply going through a booking for a cabin in the same category as the one you have. The website will show you the price for the cabin. You can then just jump out of that page. If you are doing EZair the process is similar. You don't have to touch your existing reservations.

I just looked at our upcoming cruise in March and the AIBP is $57.45/day.

That's what I thought it had jumped to (from the previous cost of $56.35) for the AIBP but these days I'm seeing a lot of people posting that it's $59. What's up with that? (No, they are not Aussies.)

The Princess web site is showing the $49.95 price + gratuity.

Patters posted from some ships are showing the price to be $52.00 + gratuity.

Not known is if the price is higher on a ship or if the Princess web site is just not up-to-date.

I just now went to the Princess site and clicked the link for Cruise Gifts & Services. It shows the AIBP at $57.45 USD and at $59.00 AUD. Those prices include the 15% gratuity that is built into the package. I still don't see where you are getting these prices.

The old price was $56.35 which included the gratuities. It went up to $57.44 including gratuities. Unless we are looking at an entirely different Princess Cruises web site I am very confused...

I don't understand why the Patter (yes, I saw one with a higher price) is listing them for more than the actual Princess web site unless they are actually charging more if purchased onboard.

Crazy, when 4 of us cruise, we get 2 aibp's and hammer them, with multiple drink orders, by 2 people for 4.Plus a nod a wink and slip a bit of coinage here and there, its all good. By the time 4 days is up we have more than broke-even.

Plus with rum-runners we sure are on a winner.

Easy as.:)
