UMDelt Posted February 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2017 I understand Empress of the Seas does not have a concierge lounge; however, I read here on Cruise Critic there is "complimentary concierge service" for guests in an Owner's Suite and the Royal Suite: http://www.cruisecritic.com/reviews/review.cfm?ShipID=1103&pgtype=cabins I'm trying to better understand the specifics on Empress of the Seas, but any reference to "concierge service" on Royal's site refers generically to the concierge lounge. For Empress, what comes with the concierge service? I'm assuming it's everything listed on Royal's site that doesn't involve a "lounge": http://www.royalcaribbean.com/customersupport/faq/details.do?pagename=frequently_asked_questions&faqId=2675&faqSubjectId=320 Is that correct? Also, in lieu of a self-service bar within the lounge, are complimentary drinks loaded onto SeaPass cards (like Diamonds and above) for OS and RS guests during select times? There is no self service bar in any suite or concierge lounge on any Royal ship. Just one of the many inaccuracies on Royals website. I have read that there is a small suite reception held in one of the bars nightly. I haven't read anything about drinks loaded onto cards for suites. jr1946 Posted February 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2017 Does Empress have a Diamond/Diamond Plus event/cocktail hour nightly? Similar to Majesty's roping off part of the Viking Crown from 5 to 8:30.

voyager70 Posted February 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2017 I believe that they only offer the 3 drinks nightly loaded onto your Seapass card. Correct. No Diamond nightly event, just the drink vouchers. They did have a sail away party for Diamond and up with free drinks in one of the lounges the first evening but sadly, I never received any kind of notification and missed it. Yes, it is on the outside deck behind Boleros (nice view of the Miami skyline when she's using Terminal G).
jcross2 Posted April 9, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2017 I'm confused. Royal Caribbean's own site describes an actual Concierge Lounge on Empress, which should also be available to Diamond Plus as it has not yet been re-named "Suite Lounge." See: http://www.royalcaribbeanincentives.com/ship/empress-of-the-seas/accommodations/ (Scroll down to see the lounge described at length.) But posters here on CC answering the Empress concierge lounge question say that there is definitely no lounge, just the 3 pre-loaded drinks and a reception on boarding day. (I know some posts are referring to a diamond lounge not existing, but others also say there is no concierge lounge either.) What am I missing here? TIA for info. Clarea Posted April 9, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) I.... What am I missing here? TIA for info. The fact that Royal's websites are frequently inaccurate. Edited April 10, 2017 by clarea
Scotty G Posted April 10, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 10, 2017 The fact that Royal's website are frequently inaccurate. What Bob said. We have been on twice since she returned to RCI and what others are saying on CC is correct.
Rare LMaxwell Posted April 10, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 10, 2017 Do not expect the services or amenities you get on other ships.
jcross2 Posted April 10, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 10, 2017 The fact that Royal's websites are frequently inaccurate. No kidding! ;) Wonder when they will hire an A-list IT team. What Bob said. We have been on twice since she returned to RCI and what others are saying on CC is correct. Thanks Scotty G, appreciate your confirming the facts. Thanks! LMaxwell, going back to Cuba will more than make up for the lack of amenities, so no problem there. And we do like the smaller ships. Just wondered about the discrepancy. Thanks, everyone, for clearing that up! Jan

jcross2 Posted April 10, 2017 #13 Share Posted April 10, 2017 Enjoy, hope you post a Cuba review. Will do. So glad Royal is visiting Cuba now. Our previous trip was on Fathom's Adonia, great experience, but Fathom will soon be no more. :(

Clarea Posted April 11, 2017 #16 Share Posted April 11, 2017 I have a question about this. Do the three drinks have to be consumed during a certain time frame or do you get three drinks a day? The voucher drinks are only available during the time period when the Diamond Lounge is having it's cocktail hour.
ARCruisinNana Posted April 11, 2017 #17 Share Posted April 11, 2017 We stayed in one of the owner suites last year and for lack of better words, "we got nothing". Did not even have the priority departure. Other than the seapass color nothing was different between us and some friends that had an ocean view. I was on the 3/27 cruise. Ricardo escorted Suites and Pinnacles to the front of the line on departure day. Sent from my iPad using Forums
