We are going to the South Caribbean next month and the ports of call are as follows:St Croix, St Maarten, Barbados and St George, Granada. I wanted some pointers on inexpensive excursions or tours in these ports. It's our first time visiting them. Any tips will help and be greatly appreciated. Thank you

We have been to all , but our favorite is St Maarten where we just grab a taxi and do a cheap taxi fare to Orient beach which is a beautiful long beach with dozens or restaurant and bars , you can rent chairs and umbrella there also

 

 

WE found a very nice small restaurant/bar on the beach a few blocks from the dock in St Croix, also had beach chairs here

As a Dane I know I'm a bit biased, however there is a lot of history at St. Croix - historical buildings in both Frederiksted (where the shop is docked) and in …- a 30 minutes by bus or taxi. For rental cars be aware that they are driving at the left side of the road in USVI.

For St. Croix also :

St. George Village Botanical Garden (West End, Route 70/Centerline Road)

Estate Diamond/Cruzan Rum Distillery (West End, Route 64/West Airport Road)

Estate Whim Plantation Museum (West End, Route 70/Centerline Road)

Lawaetz Museum at Little La Grange (West End, Route 76/Mahogany Road)

Get a guidebook from your library...very few things require a paid excursion! The more you know, the more you can save.

Lots of people in our roll call are going to spend the day at the Boatyard. Enjoy the "shortened" cruise :)
