Ship engineer cut my cord.

Update:

My cabin steward stopped me in the hallway to tell me it was himself who called the engineer because my lamp shade had a stripped out nut that caused the lamp shade to not be secure. The engineer found out about the cord and was terribly sorry and wanted to make it right. I told him I have tons of cords and there was no issue. I do not believe I will pursue this issue any further. New lamp works great and has a tight lamp shade.

Kudos for a great attitude!

Light is bolted from below. Power screw driver, they would never know.

Huh?

You would have to work from below to unbolt the current lamp.

You would then have to work from above to remove the current lamp,

and install the new lamp.

You would then have to work from below to re-bolt the new lamp.

It seems like very sloppy workmanship.

One can only hope that the workmanship in safety / security / emergency areas

is of higher quality.
