Carnival Legend sailing late & asked for departin passengers to arrive 1 hr later

Got an email from them today advising that they had to reduce the speed due to the weather and will only arrive tomorrow to Sydney at 9am instead of usual 6am...

 

I am thinking we might experience massive queues and delays boarding the ship?

They should be able to get around most of it with Friday being the worst, hopefully you will only see 3 or 4m waves but here is a link to the forecast.

Cheers for the info, hope it isn't too rough for the passengers. I suppose if they cannot get in before 6am, they have to wait for the peak hour to finish before they can come into the harbour.

what is the difference between primary and secondary swell? By looking at the map right now it is rough out there, however by the time we will be leaving tomorrow it wont be too bad and as you said max 4m swells. hoping for 2.5 - 3m

We are on the Spirit the day after, Thursday.

Only a 3 nighter so we will probably head south to avoid the larger swells. I guess we have no destination so don't need to be anywhere!!

They would be in the thick of it now, so would need to slow down a bit, but the Legend handles the big swell quite well so should not be too bad for you.

On the Carnival Spirit/Legend Facebook page they are saying it's due to dock in Sydney around 12 midday, also some footage of the conditions they had today on that page too.

With an expected arrival time of 12 noon, I would think an arrival time of more than an hour later will be required for boarding passengers.
