moschele Posted March 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2017 Hi, We are sailing on Explorer of the Seas in May, we booked an ALL access ship tour. From what I've read, the tour use to be longer, it is now only 2 hours. As of yesterday, a new activity called "Bottomless Galley Brunch" became available....in the description it says you tour the galley and then get "bubbly" and a special brunch prepared by the executive chef. My questions: 1. I thought the all access tour goes into the galley? 2. Has anyone done this, if so is it worth $35?
Cruisin'4Us Posted March 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2017 We were weighing the "worth" ourselves. Came to the conclusion that the bubbly did not add anything to the value (for us) since we already purchased drink packages.
Flyby Posted March 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2017 My mom, mother in law, and I did the galley tour. It was great! They took you back there and showed you everything and we really learned a lot! The meal they served was delicious along with unlimited champagne and mimosas. It isn't something I would do more than once (just because once you have seen and learned about the galley not much changes) but I thought it was worth it! lbjen Posted March 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 16, 2017 I am also interested in this tour. The reviews I have seen so far range from it being awesome to it being really disappointing. Apparently it depends on how busy it is, and which tour 'guide' (chef) you get. I may still take it though...
Flyby Posted March 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 16, 2017 I think it is worth taking if you have never been in the galley before which I had not. It is amazing how everything works back there and how efficient they are! The food served for the lunch was excellent along with a buffet of appetizers including cocktail shrimp! luckyinpa Posted March 16, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 16, 2017 if you are taking the all access tour, is this tour redundant?
Clarea Posted March 16, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 16, 2017 if you are taking the all access tour, is this tour redundant? Yes, the all access tour includes the galley, minus the lunch.

Clarea Posted March 16, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 16, 2017 even though the all access tour now is only 2 hours instead of 4? That's what has been reported. It seems some of the crew areas have been removed.

Mellowjourney Posted March 17, 2017 #11 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Or you could watch this video on YouTube for free and save the $35 for something else. The World's Biggest Cruise Ship - Mega Food I found it very interesting.
acbat1 Posted March 17, 2017 #12 Share Posted March 17, 2017 We just changed to the 4 meal dining package to accommodate this brunch. I hope its a good tour and brunch. It'll be our first time behind the scenes
besberry Posted March 17, 2017 #13 Share Posted March 17, 2017 I looked at this tour on my forthcoming TA on the Independence. When I tried to book, the only date/time they offered was 11:00 on a port day! I didn't bother.
