On the Vista now March 19-25, 2017

Recommended Posts

WOW! Where is everyone? Our ship's outside decks were jammed every single day. The serenity, you couldn't even walk through much less see an empty seat! Those tiny little yellow single tent chairs cracked me up.

We're in Grand Cayman so they are off the ship. This was my first time making it past the Beach Pool.

Thanks for loading us up with needed information! Your pictures are so clear.

I do have one question regarding the Havana Area. Do you have to stay in a special room or room category, or have FTTF, or anything to get into the Havana Area? Can anyone just walk right into that area or what are the specifications to get into the Havana Area?

To firemanbobswife:

Thank you so much for taking time from your vacation to post! I will be on the Carnival Vista in just 2 1/2 weeks and am interested in seeing photos of the gift shop. If you are willing, could you please take a few pictures to show me some of the merchandise available?

Have a great time on your cruise. I look forward to reading more about your trip.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your review on your vacation as well as posting the pictures LOVE THEM! We are sailing in a Havana Cabana Suite 5234 in February and cannot wait, we booked February 2016!

Since I have the suite, do I need to choose a check-in time? I will try to get FTTF but if I cannot get it, I want to be ready to choose the earliest time possible.

In the Havana area, are there actual loungers in the shade or just chairs?

Did you use the gym? If so, what time do I need to get there for a treadmill and are there enough?

I usually am at the gym between 6 am - 7 am on a cruise but when I just sailed on NCL Getaway, if I got to the gym past 7:15 am (which I did one day), I got the last treadmill and people were waiting. Is there a rowing machine? Are there complimentary classes?

Who is the piano bar singer at night? We had Ken last year on Breeze and my 70 year old mother and my 22 year old dd were up on his piano being sung dirty songs, it was a blast and everyone, including Ben, always called her Nana LOL

We (leaving family at home and cruising with my mom) also have a couples spa pass that I purchased. Are you able to get any spa pictures?

We have the Cheers package that I purchased in April 2016, before all other beverages, milkshakes, water, specialty coffees were offered and cannot wait to just drink whatever and whenever I want.

Did you book specialty restaurants? I am hoping to do that tomorrow or Friday.

Thanks so much for all your information, I greatly appreciate it!

Thanks for the cruise updates from the Vista! We will be on her in a little over 2 weeks again!

Out of curiosity what color wrist bands are they using this week for the Havana area? I am hoping for our cruise we get the darker ones, as we dont have them yet and they will go into our scrap book.

Thanks in advance!

You need to choose a time, but can arrive as early as 11AM.

There are some round loungers like I was on in the shade and there are plenty of chairs there as well. I'll see if I can get some more pics.

I haven't used the gym, but I'll see if my sister has. I know she has gone running on the track but not sure if she made it in there or not.

I'll check on the piano bar singer. Haven't been there yet either. We went to a comedian and Karaoke. Spent some time in the casino too. Played for a while but lost.

We have Cheers. First and last time for me. Have gotten our money's worth so far, but we're not big drinkers.

Did the Steakhouse last night. It was OK. I don't think it's all that people rave about. Sure, the atmosphere was different and they bring a bunch of wrapped up steaks and lobsters on a weird wheel for the "Presentation", but I don't think it's worth the $35. I had Baked Onion Soup (same as in the MDR when it's on the menu except it was way too much), Filet Mignon (which was the same as the $20 up charge one in the MDR), and Cheesecake which was huge but tasted funny. It wasn't New York Cheesecake, had a chocolate crust, and I swear coconut in it as I was picking it out of my teeth. I HATE coconut and was disappointed with dessert. Anyway, I won't be going back and will stick with my $20 on the MDR menu if I feel like a good filet. The people were super friendly and it was nice, but I guess I was expecting more. Not sure what, but at least I can say I tried it.

Thanks for the review!! While we have no desire to do Vista yet, I do have a question.

What are your thoughts on the Atrium? With the low ceilings and no glass elevators?

Just curious......

I want to know your thoughts on this as well. Did it give you that wow factor as the other glass elevator atriums gave you?

It's OK. You don't get that "Wow" factor like the other ships. The funnel thing is cool, but I feel like I'm at just a regular bar.

Sorry, guys. My phone crapped itself right after I posted last. It shut down and kept turning itself on and off. It seems to be fine now that I let it sit, but the battery is dead. So I'm on my laptop :D.

Anywho, Just got done watching "Flick" and it was better than the previous Playlist shows. I'm still a little confused about the creepy magic guy and why he's constantly interrupting the singers. I think it would be better without that distraction. I would have also liked to see some correlation between the movies/songs they are singing and the backgrounds. Random things that have nothing to do with what is going on makes no sense to me. I will say the girl that sang Whitney Houston KILLED IT! I could have listened to just her all night!

Mike Pack is hilarious as usual. Having a good time. Wish all you were here. I hope to get more pics uploaded when my phone isn't being naughty. I think I'm off to the Casino Bar for a Kiss On The Lips :*. Oh and I think I'll have a drink too :').
