And just like that our bags are packed and out in the hallway. [emoji17] We have a very late flight tomorrow so we will take our time disembarking in the morning.

Tonight we went to The Illusioninarium. It's was a good show with good food (your steak comes medium well but it's still melt in your mouth good). Seeing it once I probably would not pay for it again, but it's pretty good if it's your first time.

Howl at the moon was the best tonight!! [emoji173]

So thank you to Ourfamilylovescruising. Howl at the moon tonight was so much fun!! It was like a giant party for all of the entertainers on the ship all week. It is definitely something to put on your list of things to do!!!

Yes, we experienced this on the Escape recently too... I think it's a 'thing' on the ships with Howl ... we had the CD playing the drums and several of the singers from the other shows popped in, and were amazing ... only about 25 guests there so it was like we got a private show. Also a highlight of our trip!

sailing on the Getaway in the Baltics in May! Thank you for the thread! The weather & scenery may be a little different on my trip but it's great to see the ship is ready for me :)

Landed in Denver! Disembarkation was slow but not completely terrible. We were the second to last group so we knew it would probably be backed up by then. I took some menu pics on our way out and I have the dailies as well that I will post. Getting off the plane now so I'll post a wrap up a little later!

Thank you to everyone who followed along. It definitely makes live reviews more fun!

If you don't mind--how backed up was it? Did you have to do the "line around the whole ship" thing?

We must have missed you at most places by a few. We skipped Maya Chan after they showed us the pictures, wife was really interested in swimming and it just wasn't meant to be. We were at the meet and greet, but I am more of a quiet guy in real life, so I didn't say much, we also got the tray, it was for signing your name and room on the sign in sheet. I think the service was good all over the ship, but I am easy. We really loved the Vibe (we got lucky and snagged it), it was quiet most of the week, and the bartenders there were awesome. We never won bingo or deal or no deal this trip, but my wife hit $1000 on the cover all in October, so I can't complain. Overall a good trip. Were you onboard for the code alpha this AM? I think it was another medical emergency (at least that is what googling code alpha resulted with). I am thinking it can not be the norm to have two of those on one cruise.

Also, as to the service, we were told they were hammered the week before us, with over 1400 kids aboard, and it really affected them. Our cruise was only 800 kids, and this coming one was back over 1200. God bless those servers. :)

Yep. Although we lucked out and as the line hit the forward elevators and was turning to go back through the casino to the aft gangway, they sent probably 30 of us through the forward gangway that had been only for non-US and Canada passports. Cut a nice chunk out of our line.

Oh wow, yes we did just miss you! Yeah I can't say we ever had bad service, just some of them seemed "done". 1400 kids the week before certainly would do it!! We did not hear the code alpha. I can't imagine having to stop to get someone to a hospital is all that common at all. Hope it wasn't too serious this morning.

Well Harvest Caye was a bit of a bust. We got off the ship at 10:15 and could not find one single open chair anywhere around the pool. And we looked. The pool was pretty much standing room only. There were beach chairs that were open but the beach had tons of seaweed and the purple flag so nobody wanted to get in the water. We finally went upstairs at The Landshark to sit and get a drink. Then all of the sudden...

To quote Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop, somebody made a mistake in the pool. At least that's our guess because they cleared that place out and it was still closed when we finally called it quits and came back to the ship. They were also closing sections of the beach when we left.

This is so interesting to me. I was on the exact same cruise (working on my review and will post asap) and we had a totally different experience at Harvest Caye. We got off the ship around 9:30am and skipped the pool, going right for the beach. We found plenty of chairs for the 12 of us near the cabanas and spent the next 3-4 hours swimming in the ocean. No seaweed and no purple flags. Then on the way back, we stopped in the pool, which was crowded. We found one beach chair for our stuff and swam in the pool for about 30 minutes before getting back to the ship around 2pm for lunch. We would have stayed out there longer but $14 for a hamburger was just too much when there was free food on the ship and we were HUNGRY.

Same cruise, two different experiences. This is why I love Cruise Critic! Glad you had fun overall, we did too!

And a third experience, the pool on the ship was nice and not crowded, the vibe was basically empty, and the food and drinks were free. To me this place is a tourist trap until the extend the free drinks and food onto the island, which they own, and is in no way connected to mainland Belize. Really, it would be more true to say we did not stop in Belize, but in NCLand. Just my two cents...

we were on the Getaway March 19th And I wasn't really sure what to expect with Harvest Caye I was pleasantly surprise it was a lot like Mahogany Bay which Carnival did in Roatan but to me Harvest Caye is nicer because of the pool and splash area for the kids
