Two Wheels Only Posted April 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2017 Can I put these on my ship account which I will settle by credit card or must I give them cash? It's not a problem. Guest Services will allocate the money however you see fit and will give you a receipt with the recipient's name on it. You can give the receipt to the butler/concierge so that they know that you gave them something and how much.
JohnIreland Posted April 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2017 No problem , you just need to know the name of butler (save their business car if you as bad at spelling names as I am)
tmilak Posted April 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2017 Can you use an OBC from the TA for this? Anyone done this before? I know i can't use it for the DSC but what about the grats for others that are not part of the DSC. I have $900 of OBC and need to use it up. Can I use it in casino? I've run into a few guest services people who don't know how to do this, just ask them to talk to their manager and they can figure it out. I keep a copy of the receipt and give a copy to each staff member. I've done this for our room steward in addition to the concierge and butler. I don't know about casino. We had non refundable OBC from NCL and used it for butler and concierge tips in January.
jacmo24 Posted July 4, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 4, 2017 This is a great tip. Our first Haven experience in a few days and I hate carrying cash. Honestly, I'd lean to tipping a bit more if I could do it on my account than worrying about having enough at the end of a cruise. Can the Haven concierge do this or is it a trip to guest services? Just go to guest services and tell them you want to charge a tip to your account. OBC should be in your account and this will come off the total. (Get a copy of room accounting after charge slip is complete) Also, i try to check our room account about every other day to make sure there are no surprises. Last day iof cruise is a madhouse at guest services and I do not want to waste time trying to straighten out a problem then.
sharonann24 Posted July 4, 2017 #13 Share Posted July 4, 2017 This is our first experience with NCL and we are in The Haven. What is the standard tipping rate for the butler and concierge? We also prefer to give cash directly so I want to be prepared. Will we also be charged the standard daily gratuity rate? That has been our experience on other ships. toyotaford Posted July 4, 2017 #14 Share Posted July 4, 2017 It's a trip to guest services.:) The concierge can handle it for you. He has the vouchers and envelopes available. We always have him/her handle it for us.
