CLUB 02: For teens ages 15 to 17. This looks like a nightclub and has a dance floor and bar (soda of course). I thought it was pretty cool looking...but then again, I wonder how many actually goes here since they are all busy hanging out in Alfred's bar instead.

Question, we fly southwest as well, although only about two round trips per year. Do you have to be a card holder to purchase the cards? I have gotten them at 10% off through Verizon in the past. But another option is always nice to have.

SOrry to hijack, but I have experience first hand. Yes, you have to have an open credit card to reward for gift cards. Otherwise, you can only redeem points for flights. I learned the hard way.

The Degas Lounge: There was a bar here and a stage and is used for the comedian for the Punchliners Comedy Club and other activities on the ship. The room had large reproductions of Edgar Degas' ballerina sculptures around it and trimmed in a lot of gold.

Henri's Dance Club: This is a nightclub with a bar and a pretty nice sized dance floor. It's one of those places that has the window on the side by the dance floor that others can view you dancing as they are walking between floors in the stairway. Henri stands for Henri Roseau who primarily paints jungles scenes, which is found in the decor around the club.

Impressionist Boulevard. This is the area that runs along the side of Deck 5. It is the walking area in the casino to the other end of the ship with the venues on the sides.

In the smaller Kiosk, you can check your balance, print statements, add money and so on.

 

At their desk, I believe they were there to get you to sign up for the Carnival Credit Card. I'm not sure what else they did there.

Skybox Sports Bar: This place was tucked away off the casino area and had multiple t.v. screens that showed sports.

Tahiti Casino: The place where either magic happens and you are grinning from ear to ear...or on the opposite side of the spectrum and you are frustrated because all you did was donate your money.

 

These Fu Dao Le slot machines were very popular on the Fascination and got me and the hubby (and Kendra) hooked on them. We were so excited when they put them in at our local casino and excited to see they were on here as well. However, on the other side is another slot that is similar, but it's a frog instead. I was always doing pretty good on them. Nothing BIG, but was able to hit the bonus rounds a lot on it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

These are those seizure inducing bright and loud machines that came out a few years ago. They were very popular and you were considered lucky if you could ever get a seat at any of them on prior cruises. However, I think the excitement died down and you could always find one to play.

 

 

 

Now these....these are the new hot thing that everyone was always on and very fun to play. The hubby did very well on it and I did "ok" but would always end up donating my money back to them because they were addicting to play.

 

 

This was one of my hubby's favorites on another ship. He also plays them here at the casino. However, he didn't have any luck on the ship.

Those popular games everyone was always on...hubby liked the Money Rain on the end.

 

 

 

 

 

YES!! I FOUND GOLD FISH! I did well on the one on the end and ALICE!!! MY NEW FOUND FRIEND! I had a great time on both of these. The one second to the right was always hitting. Now when I say "hitting" I'm not talking thousands...I'm not even talking hundreds...to me "hitting" is anything that doubles my money. I always start with $20 in a slot. If I double, I cash out and call it a good day. Well, when I played these, I would hit between $58-98 and that was exciting to me. I was constantly getting the bonus, extra's and things that popped up for me to "pick one". I love games like that.

Goddess of Gold on the end...I started playing that one night and found that you can stop the reals when you wanted. I "practiced" one night and walked away with a decent amount of money by doing that ($81 on the $12 I had inserted from the loss of another machine). Miss Red is always a fun game and usually keeps you playing for awhile as well. To the left was the Roller Coaster Game. I love playing this at home and they had 2 of them on the ship.

 

 

If you notice the machine on the right...it's another Alice game. It's located on the opposite side of the others. I did not do any good on it (and it's one of the "newer" types).

Taste Bar: I thought this place was a pay place and never tried it. I'm reading that it's not? You can get appetizer samples from the specialty restaurants and other places on the ship? Oops.

Video Arcade: I say this every review...do people really use these? I have yet to hardly ever see anyone in here actually playing the games. I see people walking in and looking around, like I do, but I never see anyone actually playing video games anymore. I still think back to the 80's when this was VERY popular and they were opening up arcade's in the shopping malls. You never see anything like this out in the "real world" (at least anywhere I go) and it still has me scratching my head wondering if people still play these?

Thank you so much for this review! I'm excited to follow it because we are going on the Conquest in June. We've only been on 2 other cruises (Carnival Miracle and Victory) so we are looking forward to being on a bigger ship. Our family of 6 is booked in rooms 1408 and 1412 so we'll be very close to where you were! I'm glad to hear being on a lower deck makes it easier/quicker to get on and off the ship... I hadn't even considered that.

 

I like the idea that we're lower in the ship... someone told me you may not feel the movement as much the lower you go which is why I booked us on the lowest passenger deck this time. I don't care what anyone says, I was able to feel the ship movement on both of the cruises I've been on and the only thing that prevented me from being motion sick the entire cruise (both of them) was wearing seabands on both wrists 24/7. Some folks have suggested that it's all in my head... all I can say is they should be glad they're not in my head. ;p

 

Being right next to the elevators seems pretty convenient. Did you feel like being that close to the elevators made it more noisy with the other passengers moving about? And/or did you notice any loud "ship noise" being that low or that far back in the ship? (as opposed to "quiet" ship noise, I guess, lol)

 

Hi and glad to have you here. Correct, the lower you are, the less rocking you'll feel. We do not have any issues with motion, so no biggie to me, but being lower does help according to others because it does not move as much.

 

 

Usually the smaller the ship, the more you'll feel. That could have contributed to you "rocking" ships...however, this one had a lot of rocking for several days (not because of the ship, but the waves).

 

 

I always try to get very close to the elevators. I'd take the first room off if I can. I have never had any issues with noise and being close to the elevators in the past. However, this room wasn't my "normal" close to the elevators room. You had to go down the hall and close to the end. So, it was a little different for us this time with a lot more walking involved. But, if you are close to the elevators and one of the first rooms in the hall, I wouldn't worry too much.

 

 

As for the noise...more on that in the review. :confused:

Hmm, I would think you would have to have a card because you purchase the gift cards using the points you earn from making purchases on your card.

IT WAS GREEN PARROTS!!! Oh my gosh. They were beautiful and so many of them!!!

 

I guess I didn't realize they just roamed free like that here. It was amazing to watch them. Sakari was so thrilled!!! She immediately went into "I wanna catch and hold one" mode and started "talking" to them, like they were going to listen and just immediately come to her.

 

 

After awhile, I had to convince Sakari they were wild and not coming down to visit her and it was time to head back to the room and gather our stuff to head to the cruise.

 

First, let me say I always love your reviews and watching your little "Mermaid"! We are especially interested as we'll be on the Conquest for the second time next month.

They are Quaker Parrots and have wild colonies in Brooklyn, Chicago and many in Florida - amazing, as they are Amazon parrots. They are the only parrots that build a nest in the wild and actually build "condo" nests with whole colonies in one big nest. They are brilliant talkers and very loving parrots, although they usually bond with one or two people only. I had my Jake for over 18 years when he died of heart disease - they usually will live 35+ years in captivity and I miss him terribly. Because of our age, we will no longer have parrots as they live too long generally, but Quakers are very popular and such special birds. Expand my sig to see Jake.
