gingersvp Posted May 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2017 We're headed to Alaska this summer. While this cruise is all about the ports, we still do have a good chunk of time at sea - with 2 full days at sea (docking in Victoria at 6pm is really another sea day) and several half days at sea. What are your favorite activities on board NCL, in particular on Jewel class ships? What shows are your favorites? Seminars, activities, etc.? Tell me your favorite things from your last trip - adults, kids, whatever!

Newlywed game, battle of the sexes. Listening to the bands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Linda the Book Lover Posted May 26, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2017 Laying on one of the stone loungers with my Kindle. Then a dip in the therapy pool (ahhh) back out and read a little more. Then take a shower in the cabin, dress and enjoy lunch in Cagneys with adult beverages. Yep--start over again!

I heard from a TA friend that the Pearl's spa was his wife's favorite spa from many, many different ships. Very much looking forward to it. trivimp Posted May 26, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2017 Loved the spa on the Pearl. Also loved the little lounge down by Magnum's/Maltings. Sometimes that was better music than the big showy venues.

newmexicoNita Posted May 27, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 27, 2017 Of course like some others, eating and drinking are part of the cruising fun, but otherwise; the casino, trivia and nightly music. During the day, atrium activities are always fun. There is so many things to do and yet, when there is time, we enjoy just reading a good book. You will be hard pressed to find anything like it. AK is not about the ship, and you see almost as much sailing as you do when you are ashore. terri910 Posted May 27, 2017 #14 Share Posted May 27, 2017 Karaoke and Trivia games. We've never participated in Deal or No Deal (if they're still doing that), but it looked like a lot of fun, and we enjoyed watching it. If we are traveling with friends, we enjoy playing either card games or Mexican Train Dominoes. Other than those, we enjoy the pool/hot tubs, and the shows! nt13 Posted May 28, 2017 #16 Share Posted May 28, 2017 On our Alaskan cruise on the Pearl there were many activities on sea days, but I mostly enjoyed finding a quiet spot with a good view to enjoy the scenery. I did enjoy trivia as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
lmintzer Posted May 28, 2017 #17 Share Posted May 28, 2017 On the Pearl, one of my teen boys practically lived on the sports courts. I liked it up there, too--great aft view. My other son and I enjoyed the hot tubs--not over-croweded and wonderful, even on a cool day. My extended family and I (all ages) loved the Spinnaker Lounge. Great floor to ceiling glass window views from the very front of the ship, comfy furniture. Bingo was fun as well as some of the trivia games and the silly Battle of the Sexes. I wish we had spent more time eating at the Great Outdoors . . . did that just once. Really, love how the Pearl had awesome views almost whever we ate and sat--I never felt "contained" indoors. On Glacier Bay day, my favorite spot was 7th deck promenade. I liked that we could easily cross over from port to starboard side, as the ship was turning. And I prefered the lower railings to high glass on some of the upper decks. We tried the bow on 8 which most rave about, but for short people, it wasn't the best. The rails are high, and unelss you had a "front row" spot, I felt like people got in front of me and ubstructed my view. Our starboard balcony on 11 was nice as we were sailing out of Glacier Bay as well.
