rowe440 Posted June 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2017 I know this topic has been discussed to death and I apologize but most threads I read were older. Has anyone recently brought a 12 pack of soda on board and been successful?

Experiences vary. At Port Canaveral, the porters have refused obvious cases of water and soda. Best to put it in some luggage.
rowe440 Posted June 9, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Thanks Bob...we are sailing out of Fort Lauderdale so maybe I will try. We've only ever sailed with Carnival and it's never been an issue.

jjesq99 Posted June 9, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Are they tighter on water than soda or is it the same? Also, we have a couple of younger kids (3 & 6) and were planning on bringing snacks; how do the porters treat them?

Outside of the spring break period, I see no difference between water and soda. During the spring break period, they seem more lenient with cans of soda as I guess they feel cans are harder to use to sneak in alcohol.
TBone2K Posted June 9, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 9, 2017 All the old answers are still as applicable as the new ones. It's against the rules, but they generally don't care (except for spring break). To answer the other question, there is no restriction on pre-packaged snacks.

How do the porters treat what? Snacks would be in a suitcase and they will toss it around like any other. If you are concerned about breakage, carry them on. If you are concerned about breakage, carry them on. And stack at least 10 50-pound suitcases on top of yours....
