Mr Princess Posted June 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2017 I know it's probably a rarity, but I've just completed a 15 nt cruise on the Golden (returned 19 May 2017) and had an OBC refund due!!! It was a 'refundable' OBC, but to date (14 June) I am still waiting for the refund to be reimbursed to my Visa account! How long does it take Princess to pay? Any thoughts? Kiwihdrider Posted June 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2017 We returned from a 33 day cruise on Sea on 16th May, received a cheque in the mail today for what we were owed. Sent from my iPad using Forums

skynight Posted June 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2017 We received our refund about 3 weeks after disembark. It was a check in a plain envelope that appears to be junk mail and not a credit to our credit card account. Not certain, but I think if you purchase OBC using your credit card then that may be how the refund is made. If the refundable OBC is from other sources then you receive a check. It may also depend in what country you reside.

It really, really looks like one of those "too good to be true" offers that you get almost every day. It can take up to 6 weeks. After 6 weeks...start worrying.
floridalover5623 Posted June 14, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 14, 2017 Having them give you OBC in the form of cash on the ship, in your hand, is a much better option. No waiting for a check weeks later, worrying if you through out an unmarked envelope or they never sent it.
Kenswing Posted June 14, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 14, 2017 We received our refund in about two weeks. As stated above it's a pretty generic looking envelope..

The only way to get more than the max allowed is to try your luck in the casino. We occasionally get more than we started with.
Rare dickinson Posted June 14, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 14, 2017 We got off a cruise May 17 and received our refund two days ago. The envelope had a window with a return address of some company but underneath that company name it DID say Princess cruise lines.
BoopTennis Posted June 14, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 14, 2017 our refundable OBC came thru Costco who was the travel agent. Does anyone know if the refund will come from CostCo vs Princess? Does anyone have any actual experience with Costco Travel on this? Do you need to request it? Thank you

I had to contact customer services after waiting for ages for my refund - emailed them, and had my cheque a few days later :) Don't think I would have got it without that 'nudge'

anthonyy7 Posted June 14, 2017 #15 Share Posted June 14, 2017 Our cruise ended May 14 and the OBC refund check came 2 weeks later. It was processed and mailed from a company in Maine but did say "for Princess Cruises" on the envelope.

How long does it take Princess to pay? Any thoughts? Sent from my iPad using Forums The last time I cruised was back in March and I got our refund in about 2 weeks. The time before that it took about 6 weeks, so it appears to vary. I suspect one of the factors is something that we have no way of knowing...how many refunds they have to do and the staff available to do the work due to vacations, etc. I'm attaching a copy of the envelope that the refund comes in. You'll see that it's rather non-descript so make sure you look closely at all your mail and don't mistake it for a bulk mail item. Hope you had a great cruise! JAF1 Posted June 14, 2017 #20 Share Posted June 14, 2017 We have been due refunds from Princess twice and each time have had to get in touch to request the refund. This time we were told they are supposed to wait to refund until the paperwork comes over from the States. We returned on 1st May and queried this on 6 June and were told the paperwork had still not been sent over which, I think is very poor on Princess's part. Luckily someone in the UK took pity on us as it was a large sum and was able to check paperwork and issue us with a cheque.
