OBC refund due....how long should it take?

I know it's probably a rarity, but I've just completed a 15 nt cruise on the Golden (returned 19 May 2017) and had an OBC refund due!!!

It was a 'refundable' OBC, but to date (14 June) I am still waiting for the refund to be reimbursed to my Visa account!

How long does it take Princess to pay? Any thoughts?

We received our refund about 3 weeks after disembark. It was a check in a plain envelope that appears to be junk mail and not a credit to our credit card account. Not certain, but I think if you purchase OBC using your credit card then that may be how the refund is made. If the refundable OBC is from other sources then you receive a check. It may also depend in what country you reside.

Just be sure to check all of your "junk" mail envelopes. It really, really looks like one of those "too good to be true" offers that you get almost every day.

It can take up to 6 weeks. After 6 weeks...start worrying.:confused:

Having them give you OBC in the form of cash on the ship, in your hand, is a much better option.

No waiting for a check weeks later, worrying if you through out an unmarked envelope or they never sent it.

We received our refund in about two weeks. As stated above it's a pretty generic looking envelope..

Unfortunately, you can no longer cash in more than $25 (?) at Passenger Services.

The only way to get more than the max allowed is to try your luck in the casino. We occasionally get more than we started with.:hearteyes:

We got off a cruise May 17 and received our refund two days ago. The envelope had a window with a return address of some company but underneath that company name it DID say Princess cruise lines.

I had to contact customer services after waiting for ages for my refund - emailed them, and had my cheque a few days later :)

Our cruise ended May 14 and the OBC refund check came 2 weeks later. It was processed and mailed from a company in Maine but did say "for Princess Cruises" on the envelope.

The last time I cruised was back in March and I got our refund in about 2 weeks. The time before that it took about 6 weeks, so it appears to vary. I suspect one of the factors is something that we have no way of knowing...how many refunds they have to do and the staff available to do the work due to vacations, etc. I'm attaching a copy of the envelope that the refund comes in. You'll see that it's rather non-descript so make sure you look closely at all your mail and don't mistake it for a bulk mail item.

Definitely slower in the UK. We returned on 15th April and are still waiting! :rolleyes: Not impressed at all.

We have been due refunds from Princess twice and each time have had to get in touch to request the refund. This time we were told they are supposed to wait to refund until the paperwork comes over from the States. We returned on 1st May and queried this on 6 June and were told the paperwork had still not been sent over which, I think is very poor on Princess's part. Luckily someone in the UK took pity on us as it was a large sum and was able to check paperwork and issue us with a cheque.
