dgcruises Posted June 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Do people find the restaurants and common areas air conditioned to the chilly side?
jelayne Posted June 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2017 I don't find the common areas chilly but some do.
Educators2 Posted June 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Take a cardigan or sweater. The air temperature on cruise ships varies from place to place. I need some cover-up or longer sleeved top. Might as well pack something if you need it.
bluecruisin Posted June 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2017 I find them fine, but do not get chilled easily.
easyboy Posted June 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Depends on one's tolerance. Some feels cold in some area of the dining room. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Forums mobile app
INSIDERS CABIN Posted June 16, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Always cold if you are not a hardy mid westerner or north easterner! Southerners freeze- unless sunburnt! Sent from my iPad using Forums
Baron Barracuda Posted June 16, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 16, 2017 From the northeast and we often find mdr temp way too warm, especially off to the sides on lower deck.
miched Posted June 16, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Being in construction and a little involved in HVAC large areas that will have a lot of people are always keep very cold before a event to help offset the thermo load that happens as the area gets filled because the cooling unit isn't able to keep up with the load. That is why the areas are always very cold when entering and gets hotter. Wear a light sweater or jacket until it warms up. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌞
cb at sea Posted June 16, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 16, 2017 They keep it at "room temperature"...around 72 or so. If it's HOT outside, 72 feels chilly! I always bring some sort of sweater/wrap, but have never needed it inside the ship.
Aunt Tina Posted June 17, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 17, 2017 I'm always cold in the dining room and especially the theater. I always bring a sweater or jacket. I also have several pashmina's that come in handy.
OCruisers Posted June 17, 2017 #11 Share Posted June 17, 2017 There are times when restaurants and public areas are freezing cold enough to "hang meat". Do take some sort of wrap. ;)
NLH Arizona Posted June 17, 2017 #12 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Never felt cold or chilly in public areas.
sweetpotatoqueen Posted June 17, 2017 #13 Share Posted June 17, 2017 It might depend on your itinerary. I've only taken two Celebrity cruises: during the S.E. Asia itinerary, the corridors and public rooms were muggy and warm, but on our Transatlantic cruise, the public areas were pleasantly cool, enough so that I needed a wrap most evenings. Miched, that makes a lot of sense! Thanks for offering that tidbit. I think the HVAC system must have been overloaded on the Asia cruise - the ambient outdoor temperatures were up to 110F. Whew! Rala Posted June 17, 2017 #14 Share Posted June 17, 2017 I am a New Englander and I always bring some sort of sweater/shawl/ wrap and 99% of the time I do use it. Just depends on your personal thermostat, I think. :D
