lovesthebeach2 Posted June 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2017 We are cruising next year from Amsterdam, and need advice on what time you think we should book our return flights. We don't want to book too early and possibly miss the flight. Thanks.

lovesthebeach2 Posted June 30, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted June 30, 2017 Noon or later. Thanks, that's what I thought. I don't want to take TOO late a flight and end up sitting around the airport all day.

Mr. Click Posted June 30, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 30, 2017 What Biker 19 said. Consider booking private transport to the airport from the port because the cab line is very very slow. Two years ago we waited 45 minutes online. We were just going to our hotel but could not walk because DW had hurt her knee. Our friends staying at the same hotel walked and beat us there by 30 minutes. From the port to the airport is anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. Then you have to navigate a very big airport. If you opt for the express train, you need at least 15 minutes to walk to the train station, then time to navigate the station, buy tickets and get to the departure track. lovesthebeach2 Posted June 30, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted June 30, 2017 Do you know if the ship offers transfers to the airport? We did that in Barcelona.
Biker19 Posted June 30, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 30, 2017 Do you know if the ship offers transfers to the airport? They do at most ports. Scour the roll call threads for any sailing this year at that port and you'll get some info.
Brigbound Posted June 30, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 30, 2017 I guess we lucked out a couple weeks ago as many folks seemed to be using the $$$ RCI bus to airport option in AMS making the taxi line nonexistent. If your flights are late enough, just use a taxi and save some bucks.
