Djaesmom Posted July 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2017 We are sailing on August 20, 3 cabins, 9 people and now one of the teenagers wants to cancel. I realize we won't get a refund, but are there any chances of some kind of compensation? Or can we bring someone in her place ? I've called RC twice and got two different, inconclusive answers. We don't have insurance. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Clarea Posted July 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2017 You can change a guest up to 24 hours before the cruise, no charge. If you cancel, you will get back the taxes and any amounds spent on pre-cruise purchases such as excursions.
Amtrac Posted July 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2017 If a replacement guest is willing to pay ??? Of the non refundable fair it could become a win/win situation. It's too bad when guests don't choose insurance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In our circles, you better have a damn good reason for backing out of a cruise someone else is paying for. cruisinfanatic Posted July 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 17, 2017 I thought I read that a 3rd guest in cabin could cancel
Ourusualbeach Posted July 17, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 17, 2017 I thought I read that a 3rd guest in cabin could cancel Correct, 3rd and 4th guests may cancel anytime up until the final penalty phase (15 days prior to sailing) and receive a full refund. buttrfly78 Posted July 17, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 17, 2017 from what i understand you can change one name on the room, but one person from the original reservation must still be listed. I had a similar thing occur where both kids in the room can no longer go. Changed one of the names and the other just wont attend, so we will see how that goes. Djaesmom Posted July 17, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted July 17, 2017 See my post above regarding different cancellation rules for guests 3 and 4. There is one parent, two teens and two twelve year olds. The one in question is a teen. When I called RC they said she was the second guest booked in the room. Not sure if that makes a difference. We could easily find a cousin or friend to take her place if it's allowed. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Again, you can change the name of any guest on a booking up to 24 hours before the cruise, as long as at least one guest on the original booking remains. Luckily I had "cancel for any reason" so about 80% of our upcoming October cruise was covered by a Future Cruise Certificate. Better than flushing $2000 down the toilet. We always buy insurance and used it twice. Once when we were stuck in FLL for an extra day post cruise and once when a family member was hospitalized and had to cancel. We just never saw the need for the 'Any Reason' insurance. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
