Eclipse will be staying overnight in Curacao in January. Will shops, casino be open or closed ? Will entertainment on board be any different than when at sea? Thanx, Mike in CT

?? is about shops and casino on the ship, not in port - I'll look for that info on the Curacao boards. Somebody must have done an overnight there. Or does everyone go to bed after dinner??

Did the overnight in Curacao last January. Was off the ship all day and stayed out for dinner and came back late.

The evening shows and entertainment is the same as if at sea.

Don't really recall about the onboard shops and casino. Hope someone else can help with that info.

Shops and casino are closed while in port. Entertainment does exist, but is pared back from what you get on many sea days. There will be no major production show while in port.

You know that this is a fact by having stayed overnight in Curacao recently? My quess is that you are generalizing by experiences on port days in other circumstances. Let the truly specifically experienced share their knowledge.

I can't speak for Curacao but we overnighted in Cozumel this past February on the Equinox and there was a great party on the pool deck with all of the singer's and dancers performing, dancing with the passengers, etc. We missed most of it but from what we saw it was the best evening/night entertainment of the entire 11 nights.

Thanks. I guess we'll find out in january. What does CELEBRITY call the daily? Do they leave it in your cabin the night before? Looking forward to sail celebrity again.

You receive it overnight for the next day on your bed. It is called Celebrity Today.

Bad guess :). We were overnight in Curacao, this past December 1, on the Eclipse. But feel free to discount everything I say. Look hard enough and you will likely find somebody to say what you want to hear.

Whether the casinos stay open or not depends on where the ship is docking. If I remember correctly, when we overnighted in Aruba the casino was in fact open. It all depends what the regulations are for the particular ports. On most other Caribbean islands the casino and shops close while in port. I am not sure about Curacao but I believe the ABC islands are all under the same government regulations so the casino will likely be open but I can't speak to that point for certain.

They must have changed something in January, since the shops and casino were open. I certainly didn't remember if they were or not, since those facts aren't worth remembering. :D But the Celebrity Today said they were. I am quite surprised that Curacao would permit them to remain open; but perhaps that was the only way that X would agree to being there overnight. The local economy was improved by many people visiting town at night.
