cruisekitty22 Posted July 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2017 Can I order the prime rib and lobster at the same time if it is offered in the MDR on formal night? Or is only one entree now what we can order in the MDR? On cruises past I could have as much of the entrees ordered that I wanted.

bury me at sea Posted July 23, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2017 As many entrees, appetizers and desserts as you want. Happy sailing.
salty dingo Posted July 23, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2017 I almost always order two appetizers and skip the salad. That's never a problem.
mishka422 Posted July 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2017 I always order both. Just know that you will end up with two complete dinners. Sent from my SM-G925V using Forums mobile app

BTHodgeman Posted July 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2017 I always order both. Just know that you will end up with two complete dinners. /\ This! Even if you ask only for the lobster tail or the prime rib itself, you'll get two full meals. A lot of time I just want the protein from a second dinner (and ask for it), but without fail an entire meal comes out... Kinda wasteful, but I think much easier on the kitchen staff than preparing just a main or just a side, etc.
sjcruiser Posted July 24, 2017 #8 Share Posted July 24, 2017 You can order as many appetizers, entrees, or desserts that you want. I usually order two appetizers, one entree, and one dessert, if have room for it.
Crusingdiva62 Posted July 24, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 24, 2017 If you are ordering something off the steakhouse menu in the MDR it is $20.00 per entree

And gets the same response from the waiter that it is easier for them to do that way.

The kitchen mass produces banquet style plated meals and do not prep plates a la carte like a restaurant ashore. Read Cruise Confidential to learn about the food and beverage operations from the only American crew member to complete their contract with Carnival at the time the book was published. Sent from my SM-G925V using Forums mobile app Even though you get two full meals, they aren't huge helpings. They are considered "normal" helpings. You know, what the doctors tell you that you should be eating, not what you normally pile on. ;)
