Does Carnival ever offer drink packages at a special price?

Last year before we sailed on Royal Caribbean they had a special for a limited time on ordering the drink packages ahead of time (more so than usual). Just wondering if Carnival ever does the same.

It's $5 pp/per day cheaper if you purchase it ahead of time through the Fun Shops.

Royal also discounts the drink packages if you buy before the cruise. So Carnival's price never changes?

There was one time it was less but I don't recall the details and I don't think it was a sale. Maybe it was different prices based upon the number of days the cruise was? It could have been around the time they changed it to include all the nonalcoholic drinks as well but I can't be certain. Hopefully someone that knows for sure will chime in.

 

But other than that, no. I have never seen a sale.

It is cheaper if you buy ahead of time - if you wait til on board you pay $5 more

For a short time in 2014 they experimented with "tiered pricing" and were charging $42.50/day, but since then they've gone back to $49.95/day + 15% = $57.44/day...

NCL, Celebrity and RCCL are the lines noted for offering free or discounted booze packages. It pays to compare full pricing if you're thinking of purchasing Carnival's Cheers pkg.

Another way to save money is the discounted Carnival gifts cards. I did that and saved $80. $800 worth of cards for $720. That about the best I can find and I will buy online in advance to save the $5/pd as opposed to buying on ship.
