Luminae restaurant on the Eclipse

Remember lunch is only served on sea days. We tend to find the lunch menu a bit heavy. We will often just ask for a soup and salad. Three Luminae meals a day is simply overload! If we are going to lunch in Luminae we will just have coffee and croissants in the suite for breakfast....

We were on Eclipse in May. We had no issues at all when we dined in Luminae but we usually dine quite early....in our experience over several cruises there can be a bit of a queue 7.30 ish but only a few minutes.

Hope you have a great cruise! We are back on board in September and so looking forward to it!

We will look out for you in Michael's!

Is it your first Celebrity cruise? Any more questions re Eclipse generally or the suite experience, feel free to ask!

Hi chemmo, we are booked in a Celbrity Suite, so any tips to help us make the most of our first Celrity cruise would be greatly appreciated. And hope to say hi in Michael's.

We have only had Luminae on two cruises, but no waits other than if we arrive just after someone else, we wait while they are escorted to their table and then we are escorted to ours. So maybe 90 seconds? Two minutes?

On one breakfast we got there to find it almost completely filled, and the maitre d' apologized that "our" table wasn't available. It was absolutely no problem but she thought we'd be upset or something.

Hi Geoff and Louise,

We are regular suite guests on Celebrity. We find Michael's Club a great venue to meet others for pre and post dinner drinks. They also provide a great afternoon tea although we still prefer the butler to serve ours in suite. Just ask if this is your preference.

Michael's also offer some musical events which we really enjoy. The concierge will give you details of these. There is usually also a helipad 'sail away' from at least one port. If you let the concierge know of any particular areas of interest you have on the ship (bridge tour, galley tour, theatre back stage tour...) she will sort them out for you.

I do recommend you try at least one or two speciality restaurants. Tuscan Grill is our favourite if we are leaving a port just as it is going dark...You can enjoy those fabulous wake views and the port slowly disappear as you leisurely dine...Murano's is our favourite dining venue, make sure one of you orders something prepared tableside....

Sincere best wishes for a great cruise!

We were on the Eclipse for 14 days a few months ago and never had to wait for a table and it was always quite busy when we went for lunch or dinner.

We did have a special anniversary dinner for which my husband had requested a quiet window table. Since there could be a wait for a particular table, they suggested we wait in Michael's Club and called the MC concierge when the table was ready. We were pampered in Michael's while we waited and then pampered in Luminae - a special night!

Hi, we have only ever cruised Aqua class but have a sky suite on Silhouette in August. Any advice, hints or tips on differences would be appreciated.

There are some obvious differences like suite priority boarding, Michael's and Luminae. We really value these. As mentioned in another post we enjoy Michael's as a great venue for a drink pre and post dinner.

Then there is your butler....Some people don't particularly value a butler but we do. We love having early morning coffee delivered to our room, enjoy afternoon tea on the balcony and value the butler's advice and support if we have a problem with anything.

Then there is the Michael's Club host...Speak to her early in the cruise about any special things you would like to experience like a bridge tour and she will sort it. If you are having difficulty booking a speciality restaurant she will try to sort that too....Any issues you would normally use customer services for (an overcharge to your account...) the concierge will sort too. She will also book shore excursions for you and arrange preferential wait listing if tours are full...

I can not comment re Sky Suites in terms of in room layout/facilities as we have never booked one but I am sure others would be able to answer any queries re storage etc.

Hope you have a great suite cruise!

We have cruised in Celebrity Suites several times and have one for our TA on Eclipse next April. They are wonderful suites! People will mention the lack of a dining table in the suite but you will have a large table on your balcony and we had room service deliver breakfast there many times during our trips, very nice!

We liked Luminae so much that we didn't bother with any specialty restaurants on our last trip except for a group dinner at Qsine with 30 people from our roll call. While we are not huge fans of Qsine if you are in a group of 6 or more it can be a very fun evening.

We have sailed in a Celebrity Suite on both the S and M class. The M class is actually a larger suite as it has a dining area and two walk in closets with a dressing area- but the bathroom is much nicer on the S class ship. You will love the perks that are available for all suite class guests, including priority boarding and disembarkation, Michael's club and Luminae. We also enjoy the specialty restaurants and always dine at least once in each, with the exception of sushi on five-not sushi fans. We have had excellent Michael's club hosts on all of the ships. Our experience with butlers is mixed as some are excellent and others not. You will really love the size of your celebrity suite. Enjoy your cruise!

This was our norm on the Infinity last year during a Pacific Coastal. We had a waiter team that we bonded with during embarkation lunch and dined with them at all meals after that. The hostess was perfect and everyone was just a joy to deal with. We'd go to Michael's just before dinner for a cocktail and social time. We would let Eric know that we would head to dinner whenever our 'team' in Luminae had a spot, with our preference being a window table. We bonded so well with the Luminae hostess, she would often walk to Michael's to summon us... nice touch and a great vacation!

Do we still have a cabin steward as well as a butler?

Yes. The steward cleans the room turns down bed etc. Your butler brings breakfast, room service, books specialities..............
