Disappointed with RCL/Allure.

Recommended Posts

The only way I figure this might happened is they sailing on a sister line of RC and they established their casino record there. That record is transferable within the "RC Family" of lines.

Something like booking a Celebrity Cruise while onboard a RC one.

Also, RC is associated with MLife so any MGM properties... if OP gambles at any casino properties on land as part of the players club they can earn a free cruise this way

They are trying to win me over. But to those that do play and are used to casino hospitality, normally this is done on day one. It's a nice touch.

Let me add my green chip to the discussion.

1. Some of you need to take a deep breath, let it out, relax - feel better now?

2. What difference does it make where the OP plays cards.

3. Most importantly, the OP needs to switch to Craps, that way you can't discuss how the play on the table may effect others.

I'll be on the Allure very soon and I will be sure to investigate these allegations.

Don't want to do a trip report because I am afraid that if I experience anything negative, I may be judged harshly for leaving my 33 and 28 yo's at home.

No one will give you a hard time over that just as long as the grandparents are watching them.

... and you don't make the mistake of being female! Moms are less allowed to drink and gamble than Dads, that's just the way the world works.

Quick review. Some staff are awesome some not so awesome.

Labadee is a skip for me. If I didn't have a beach bed I would have died. Also water is very murky. I suggest only go there if you're gonna zip line or do something other than the beach.

Puerto Rico is ok. Could have stayed and I would have been fine with that.

Saint Marteen, nice. Better beach than Labadee. But I've been to all the islands and it's more of the same.

As for food, I still say not what I expected. My waitress makes the meal better than it really is. We request her whenever we are in the main dining room.

The buffet, meh.

Room service is ok. Their wings are a hit. But order a lot. One order is like 3 whole wings. Don't order nachoes. It's just a bunch of chips and everything on the side. Burgers are ok.

Casino is ok. Like I said not what I'm used to. Even my dealer last night Ace said her managers say NCL casino guests are treated better. Straight from her mouth.

Seems like everything is only on for an hour. Karokee is an hour. They have DJs spinning for an hour. Seems every activity is an hour long.

Not much more to say

Can't edit my post. Just wanted to add some things

Thank you to those that gave me tips in the casino. I didn't know i was supposed to look for my host. RCL is new to me. And such the way things are done is new to me.

Also thanks for the 1800 number to call about more perks. I'll give them a call after I'm back.

I enjoyed the back and forth on Black Jack. But I've always found its a combination of 'playing the right way' and fate. You can help your odds by playing the right way, but also I feel in the end if you're meant to win you're gonna a win.

I don't play BJ mainly because the amount I play per hand wouldn't last long if I run on bad shoe.

I don't normally play baccarat and yes it's 50/50 either banker or player. I guess in my mind I have the choice to pick so that's why I play it on the Allure.

My main game is Pai Gow cards or Tiles. Unfortunately they don't have it on the allure. No matter how much I tell them I'll do for a minimum bet they say they don't have a dealer for that game on the ship.

I play a decent size per hand bet and with pai gow there are many pushes. So I can sit there and play for hours.

And in doing so I rack up the points.

I also find it funny that some posters think I'm fabricating anything.

I'm not the first person and will not be the last person that gets comped cruises. As many posters have posted they have been comped themselves.

I've been on both NCL (escape, jewel) and RCCL (allure) recently I completely understand and agree with weespeed. The crew on both NCL ships seemed happy to be there and proud to serve, while on the Allure they did their job but never a smile or go out on if their way to do extra. We were booked on the liberty for feb and just switched to the getaway because we felt this made a big impact on our overall feeling on the cruise . One of the other things I noticed is that on Allure it was more formal and the passengers seemed more stuffy. We just feel more comfortable with the freestyle type cruising it really is a personal preference. We enjoyed Allure just felt NCL was. Better fit for our family style.

Based on your play, a Casino Specialist should call you post cruise. It doesn't hurt to call on your own

You may check your points with a Pit boss after 8 pm each night. Since the Casino is sending things to the room, they have noticed you. Just the same, I ask when I check in each night to grade my play.

On the last evening of your cruise, you should get a Casino Certificate on your door. If you get comped a balcony cabin, typically they are upgradable to JS or higher.

Playing in the Casino is a form of entertainment to me.

Our family of 10 just returned from the Allure of the Seas less than 2 weeks ago, and we all had a great time. My husband and I (the grandparents) have been on 75 cruises on various lines, mostly Princess and Royal Caribbean, and our children and grandchildren have cruised with us each summer for the past 6 years. We had 5 balcony cabins on the Boardwalk, and the 2 stewards we had were both outstanding and very friendly.

We were very pleasantly surprised that the food in the main dining room was excellent, with the best beef that we have had on any cruise line. And our waiter and assistant waiter were also both excellent, warranting an extra tip in addition to the auto tips. Aside from dinners, the food in the dining room and the buffet for breakfast and lunch was also very good--much improved from food that we had experienced a few years ago on Royal Caribbean.

We have previously cruised with the children and grandchildren on NCL, but last year on the Anthem of the Seas and this year on the Allure of the Seas we found the food and service far superior to Norwegian, and we are already booked on the Harmony of the Seas for next summer.

I realize that tastes vary, but I just wanted to let future cruisers to know that we found Royal Caribbean to be excellent!

Yep to comped cruises. I was on the Majesty a week ago and was comped a 4 night on the Independence in January.
