happytocruise2018 Posted August 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2017 I'm wondering if my cruise needs to be paid in full before i can schedule the embarkation time or if I just need to wait a little longer. I want to schedule as soon possible in order to get the earliest time. I have 202 days until the cruise and will be sailing out of Long Beach. Rare Essiesmom Posted August 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2017 I just finished up information for three cruises, and for each one it was a step in the personal info process. EM
Aggiebuttercup Posted August 7, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2017 No, you don't have to be paid in full. It opened for me to schedule embarkation about 175 days out. I got my slot reserved even though I've only put down the deposit.
easyboy Posted August 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2017 You can when booked even with just a deposit.
bUU Posted August 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 7, 2017 It showed up for us exactly 165 days prior. There seems to be no specific and precise pattern.

evandbob Posted August 7, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Remember that it is check in time, not boarding time, that you have to schedule.
teknoge3k Posted August 7, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Remember that it is check in time, not boarding time, that you have to schedule. I was just about to say the same thing. You're scheduling your check in time, not your embarkation time. The time you choose is not the time you get on the ship.
candigirl41 Posted August 7, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 7, 2017 I am sailing out of Long Beach in November. We booked last October and were able to pick our check in time right after we booked. It's strange how some people can't get it and others can. It seems so random. Candi
Brooke71991 Posted August 7, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Where do you schedule your embarkment time? I know it would not be available for my cruise yet, but I have not cruised since 2015. I just want to know where I should look for it.

Brooke71991 Posted August 7, 2017 #14 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Which one decides when you can get into port? That's honestly all I care about. I am flying in the night before and am curious when I actually need to show up to port. They did not have staggered boarding when I first cruised carnival. bUU Posted August 7, 2017 #15 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Again, you do not schedule your embarkation time. You schedule your check-in time. These are 2 totally different things.Even more technically, it's explicitly labeled the "Arrival Appointment". You don't even necessarily get to check-in at that time, but rather you're allowed to arrive at the check-in area at that time. But I think folks get the idea, eh? dmdiver Posted August 7, 2017 #16 Share Posted August 7, 2017 No, it doesn't have to be paid in full. I was able to pick our check-in time right after booking in May for our December cruise.

happytocruise2018 Posted August 7, 2017 Author #19 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Thanks for all the help. I do understand the difference in terminology. I'll keep checking for the schedule to show up. The visual was very helpful as I was not at all sure what I was looking for and was hoping it would be simple and obvious, and I can see it will be.
