gerelmx Posted August 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2017 We booked with a travel agent on the June 8 GTY interior cabin, for July 8 the rate was reduced by $200 per cabin and now on August 18 it was reduced to another $100. What is to be done in these cases when they are struggling to fill the boat? Will the rate be automatically adjusted on the day of final payment? wrk2cruise Posted August 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2017 You must call and get the rate adjusted when you see the better rate. If your TA is not open place a cabin at the new rate on hold until you can get the TA to adjust the rate. You also have to be careful that any perks you have at the old rate will be honored with the new rate.
jelayne Posted August 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2017 There is no automatic adjustment so call your TA and ask for the reduced price. As wrk2cruise mentioned be sure that any perks you have are not affected by the lower price. The other option is you may be able to move up to a Oceanview cabin for no additional $. Guindalf Posted August 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2017 Prices fluctuate all the time and I doubt they’re ‘Having problems filling the ship!’. It’s up to you to keep an eye on prices and inform your TA so they can act on your behalf. We booked our October cruise on the Equinox back in January and the price dropped a total of $150 since booking, which we managed to get ours reduced to match. Since then, literally within a week, the price of our concierge class room increased by about $400! It’s still a lot more than we paid, so now we’re just a few short weeks away, we’re more than happy.
