cruisekitty22 Posted August 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2017 Do they still serve Baked Alaska in the MDR on the ship nowadays, specifically the Fascination?
Rare Ottawa_Cruiser Posted August 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2017 I didn't see it at all on the Magic August 5-13th.
frayedend Posted August 24, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2017 I was just on Fascination and didn't see it. I did skip both elegant night, however, so it could have been served on one of those nights and I wouldn't know.
Port of Tampa Posted August 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2017 Never heard of it? What is it? Lived in AK for several years so curious.
mdsgu Posted August 24, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2017 Haven't seen Baked Alaska in years (on Carnival, Royal, or NCL).
ABQrobin Posted August 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 24, 2017 We had it probably a year ago, not sure which ship, and we weren't impressed. Ice cream was soft before it got to the table.
naxer Posted August 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 24, 2017 It seems they have it on Throwback Sea Days on the Journey's cruises. https://carnival-news.com/2017/02/21/carnival-cruise-line-expands-popular-carnival-journeys-program-with-13-additional-voyages-departing-in-2018-19/

LuvtheBeach10 Posted August 24, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 24, 2017 Never heard of it? What is it? Lived in AK for several years so curious. It's basically layers of ice cream and cake covered in meringue and then baked. It's very good! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

mzloolue Posted August 27, 2017 #13 Share Posted August 27, 2017 It looks like a slice of neapolitan ice cream with a bit of plain cake on the bottom and a bit of meringue on the top. It is nothing like the photo linked to above. It is okay, but nothing special unless you really really like tri-color ice cream slices. Seriously.
