Don't want inclusive drinks package - Will the price go Down At All ??

I've been looking at a cruise for October 18 on Jewel Of The Seas - and was going to book it while onboard my next cruise (5th Nov 17) - Currently the price includes all inclusive drinks package - great, but I'm not a big drinker and hardly touch alcohol.

Anyone any advice - will the price come down a bit ? or at all? Maybe if the offer of All Inclusive ends? Should I bother waiting till the cruise to book onboard (was thinking of getting OBC and Lower deposit) - whilst I've been keeping an eye, its gone up a couple of hundred quid, so currently I may as well have booked it instead of waiting :(

Any advice appreciated....

Unfortunately, there's no predicting price trends. Since UK booking rules preclude getting price drops, it's a tough situation. If you are committed to go on a specific cruise, then I'd book now. Otherwise I'd roll the dice, knowing that the price may well go up and you may have to forego the cuise.

Daized there is a well known German web site that gives you both prices with and without the drinks package but in Euros. The are charging 315 euros (£277) for the free drink package. Just wait it will change by the time you go on Rhapsody (see you on board)

Generally, when the 'all inclusive' deals come on the price goes up. When the 'deal' goes off the price goes down again.

It has done so with several cruises that had 'all inclusive deals' we have been looking at over the last few years.

Of course, there are no guarantees that this will happen, but if the past is anything to go by, the odds are in your favour.

We had a free drinks package in June on Freedom and when the offer finished the price did not go down.

It might be worth speaking to a specialist cruise TA and see if they can get you a price without the drinks package.

Considering the prices went up by over £1000 to cover the “free” drinks package, I expect they will drop when the “free” drinks package promo is over!!

I agree with you regarding the price rise.

We had the free drinks package in June on Freedom and the price was significantly higher than the original brochure price.

The promotion must have been very successful because when it finished the price did not come down indicating most of the cabins had been sold.

It is possible to book without the 'free drinks', usually when booking a guarantee cabin. I live in the UK and have booked without the drinks package on a number of occasions....

There are normally two prices shown on the website..., the normal price and the available offers price

For example an Independence of the sea cruise in June next year is £1999 pp for a balcony cabin guarantee (without any C & A discounts if applicable) without drinks package or £4500 for 2 people, so if you weren't interested in drinks you would save £500, however, if you wanted the package it's a good deal ( it's all relative depending on preference)

Just buy the drinks you want as you want them. You don't NEED a package to get anything.

Included in your fare is : ice water, coffee, tea (iced or hot), lemonade, milk and juice during breakfast. If you want the occasional soda or specialty coffee, simply buy one. It will be less expensive than a package.
