finnkle Posted October 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2017 My wife isn't a big drinker so the unlimited package doesn't make sense for us but I do enjoy to drink. Do they sell buckets of beer on the cruise? Any idea of the price or discount? Do they do promotions or does it stay the same every day? Been a few years since I have been on RCCL. Thanks! There's usually some sort of bucket/bag available, like 6 beers for the price of 5.
opmope Posted December 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 15, 2017 I would like to know this too? Any input would be greatly appreciated. When can I take advantage of the free drinks on board, ie pool party and art show?

Tillie43 Posted December 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 15, 2017 Not big drinkers either but if one purchases a bucket of beers and all bottles are not consumed poolside can the remainder be taken to your cabin later?

Clarea Posted December 15, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 15, 2017 Thanks Bob. You're welcome. I think the only place they would not want the bottles is right near the pool.

When can I take advantage of the free drinks on board, ie pool party and art show? While not quite free, I've seen the casino on some ships offer a mimosa morning with $1-2 mimosas. Also, some of the 7+ night cruises will offer drink cards around day 4 that's around $88 for 10 drinks (can be used on anything up to $12). jjmock Posted December 15, 2017 #10 Share Posted December 15, 2017 Free champagne is normally offered at the Captain''s reception (first formal night) and art auctions. Not to split hairs, but not likely to be “champagne” more likely an inexpensive sparkling wine. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Luke Dawg Posted December 15, 2017 #11 Share Posted December 15, 2017 Yes, on some days there is a special buy 4 get the 5th free. It is better than nothing, at $8.25 (plus 18%) per 16oz beer that bucket will cost $40.

kevdad Posted December 15, 2017 #14 Share Posted December 15, 2017 Are the buckets the mega-brewers or are there some smaller names to choose from?
CatDad2012 Posted December 15, 2017 #15 Share Posted December 15, 2017 I remember them being Bud, Bud light, Ultra, Dos Equis, etc.. Also if I planned on taking any back to the cabin, I asked the bartender to only open the ones that you plan to drink, otherwise they will open all 6.

volk904 Posted December 17, 2017 #19 Share Posted December 17, 2017 The bucket deals are great for beer drinkers and with screw tops you can leave them sealed to take them back to your cabin in the bucket. If you like other drinks usually on day 4 they sell a 10 drink card. Good for any drinks but not good value to use on beer. It is a card that can be used for you and your wife. mtu_huskies Posted December 17, 2017 #20 Share Posted December 17, 2017 Got a bucket on Oasis in October. Bring a bottle opener if you want to bring some to the room unopened. We did a bucket of corona. They gave some limes in a cup but scrambled for a bottle opener, eventually getting me one to use in the room. Had a built-in bottle opener in the bathroom of our junior suite on the Rhapsody. Never had any on the bigger ships. Growing up in the 60’s we learned how to improvise. Corner of a table or desk works. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
